The Packaging/Promotional Art/Instruction Booklet/Book Mistakes Topic

This is an advertisement for the same event. Mazeka and Nuparu are my favorite characters from Hero Factory.

Green child has contorted their bodies so much they can’t possibly still be alive

I love that Mazeka is still holding the handlebars of his vehicle for some reason

That’s how hard the giant hand pulled him from the driver’s seat

The renders for Takutanuva show his staff with a bottom tip that the instructions not only ignore but also wouldnt let you put on if followed as the axle inside that hose is not even the same length as the hose.

which is unfortunate because the render version is objectively superior considering the lower part of the staff is actualy solid this way

what makes this extra funny is that the layout of the boxart actualy circles that exact part with the O

Those ribbed hoses can be compressed.

My guess is that the set designer squished the hose to get the connector on the end, but then the instruction designer left it off because they didn’t want to make a squished model for the hose.

seems like it would be some rather extreme squishing. the axle is only 6l and from those 6 only 4l are actualy inside that hose. now the shortest hose in that combiner is 9l which means youd need to squish it to even less than half its actual size.

whats also interesting is that on the boxart you can actualy see a small bit of the axle between the connector and the hose. which is actualy accurate to how it looks with an axle thats long enough to fit through the hose and the connector

Funky little rendering error in the instructions for the 8284 tractor, some of these parts are clipping through each other.

Here’s a particularly glaring error from the 2025 FLL Challenge kit (Set 45826).

In Step 50, a panel construction is added to what will eventually be the starboard side of a boat:

Then, in Step 51, another panel is added to the port side and the panels from Step 50 have disappeared:

Then, in Step 52, a mirrored copy of this new panel is added to the starboard side, but it’s just floating there because the first panels are still missing:

(The panels appear correctly in later steps)

From the same set, another model adds a loose treasure chest a few steps before it’s supposed to be added in the final step:

Yeah, I’ve been encountering a lot of weird or incredibly bad errors like that with Technic sets lately. The less egregious ones I’ve encountered have been these two:

This is from the garbage truck set. Pay attention to the blue L3 peg.

The short side goes into the beam first. Then the next time we see it, the peg has swapped positions and now the longer end is in it. Then it has us place another beam, which would require disassembly doing it with the long side in first, but now the peg has swapped positions again.

Got a similar peg swapping positions issue on the submarine too.

The L3 2/3 peg part axle piece, in the alignment reference image, is suddenly in the wrong way. The correct version is one the model image right next to it.

Also, several of my instruction books were either printed askew or cut wrong. The top portion of the books were missing several of the boarders/rounded boxes around the parts needed for the step. Not sure if this is due to physical instructions being phased out or less quality control.

One thing I just came across, the parts list in the Mini Class Xerion (42102) instructions shows one of the small L-shaped beams in red. That part isn’t used on the model nor is it included with the set.

It’s weird that BrickLink doesn’t mention this in the Inventory page for this set; usually they’ll mention errors like that.

Now that you have mentioned this, I have noticed that as well.
