As someone who’s never seen Transformers, what series would you recomend first, and where can I watch it?
I would recommend Transformers Prime to start with. It is the best Transformers TV show I’ve ever seen.
Prime hands down, Animated and Beast Wars are pretty cool as well
I’m preferable to G1 and armada but prime is really good once the series gets some steam and starts going
Animated than fellow by G1.
I am partial to G1 because my uncle, who had grown up watching it had showed it to me when I was young, but my favorite series is a tie between Prime and Animated. Animated was my favorite cartoon when I was little, and Prime later came along and I loved it just as much.

G1 is where it’s at. The toys were great, the comics were great, the show could be hilarious at times, and the movie was awesome.
I’d have to say Animated was the best as a series. Prime is a close second.
Animated had its ups and downs. I didn’t like all the super villians or how little the Cons showed up, but ultimately it did a lot of things better than any other TF series.

- Making the Decepticons OP
- Subtly showing the horrors of war (Great War flashbacks)
- The whole organic=disgusting thing worked well with interactions.
- Optimus and Sentinel’s rivalry
But the best thing Animated ever did was:

Megatron
Hands down the best cartoon Megatron I have ever seen. He was freaking OP, cool and calculating, and utterly ruthless. The fact that he never called Optimus by name until the end of series was icing on the cake. Prime Megatron is a close second, but he goofed up a bit toward the end of the series.

Everyone I know agrees that it is not only their favourite, but the BEST version of Transformers in existence. I agree.

Prime is an odd subject for me. Really great series, definitely one of faves. To me it sort of shares the throne with Animated.
It’s problems stem from the MacGuffin- cough sorry, relic quest and Beast Hunters. The relic quest gave us a LOT of MacGuffins that mostly lasted for one or two episodes. Basically it felt like a filler arc. Beast Hunters (Can I point out that the only predecon in that arc was Predeking?) started off as its own thing, but then it just became a rehash of the Omega Lock ark.
The only reason I hold Animated slightly above Prime is because Animated made Prime. It gave Rachet his grumpy personality, introduced Bulkhead, definitely inspired Arachnid and M.E.C.H, and greatly inspired the sleek art style.

I agree with everything you say, but I still really dislike Animated.
And that’s totally fine. Animated is a hit or miss, it’s like the black sheep of TF cartoons.

I do quite like the art-style, however. It’s cool seeing Bionicle fanart of characters in that TFA style.

I plan to attach a micro USB to his phone mode and use it as my flashdrive. However he might be a little too big, but I’ll definitely get him anyway.
He is certainly the best Galvatron figure. I’m not really feeling it though.
I’ll hold out until the inevitable Astrotrain redeco.
