Theme/Set Concepts That Just Don't Work

Let’s face it; some LEGO products aren’t meant to be. Talk about ideas and concepts that LEGO really wants us to like even though you, or we, don’t really like them.

If you’re confused about this, an example would be the constant use of “Flyers” in Ninjago sets that quite frankly I never care about.

Belville have akward dolls with very little Lego vibe.

Are you sure? I might use that piece in my next MOC…

Galidor made some monstrosities like this guy

He’s giving me nightmares by just looking at him

THEY NEVER WORK

That and the Galidor pieces don’t work well with other Legos

Never did like the whole “Airjitzu flyer” thing they had going, the original spinners were much better in terms of playability (not to mention it doubled as a trading card game).

The figures from Fabuland are even more terrific than Duplo.

I found the Spinners in Ninjago rather unappealing. They just never caught on with me.

I liked Galidor, it was a cool concept. Plus the sets were great. Now imagine if they remade it with CCBS.

Are you just gonna ignore the other stuff in the background?

Oh, yes, a couple of bricks really make up for that price. Remember when 10$ could buy you this?

Remember when you could buy this for ~$4-5?

Wait really? I thought I heard at least $5…

Brickset records a 7$ US retail price in 2001. Adjusted for inflation, the Mata were around 10$ US:

So basically, the Toa Mata cost the same as last year’s Protectors (thought the Protectors feature almost twice as many parts).
