Thoughts on Lego Ben 10?

I was never a fan of Ben 10 growing up, but I felt really drawn to the Lego Ben 10 Constraction sets. I really liked how they looked, and I even got 2 of them: Chromostone and Jet Ray. The sets were okay, but I couldn’t really use them with my Bionicle sets. The biggest problem, however, were the prices. 25$ for these sets, and they had around 30 pieces at the most…

The sets were fun, but I wouldn’t say that the pieces were very useful.

When I first saw that Lego was making Lego Ben 10 constraction sets.
I was baffled by that idea.
The sets looked very bad but the parts though.

The only thing worth it were the parts

they were kinda cool

over priced as hell though

10/10

I never got any. I was too busy mourning Bionicle :stuck_out_tongue:

These new spike pieces were really cool. For some reason, they never used those outside of the theme, and were never seen again…

Or so we thought…

Lego, we know you still have that mold! Stop hiding it from us!

Was that cave really Ben’s tomb?

Anyway, I really liked Ben 10 back then, I actually kind of liked these sets. I never even knew what their price was, so that didn’t play in to consideration. I was just happy they looked mostly like the cartoon, and disappointed there was no Goop or Alien-X.

They used the piece in the middle on the claws of the Micromanagers.

Um…can I get a pic?

This is a replica of the Micromanagers that actually appeared in the Lego Movie.

I didn’t make this version, although I have made my own version of them. Essentially the same thing.

Some HF sets had parts from them…and that was as close as I got to them…

25$ was way too much for the sets. It should have been like, 10$, maybe 15$ at most.

Onua’s hammer has a Ben 10 foot on it in silver.

The LEGO Ben 10 sets were an interesting idea but there was not really any potential behind it seeing as how Ben 10 was in it’s last season

uhh,

OG
alien force -what the sets were based on
ultimate alien
the new one, omniverse or something?

not exactly it’s last season, or for that matter last series.

I got spidermonkey, the worst of them for parts,
as for the parts themselves,
addons were nice,
base torso looked cool,
heads were garbage,
everything else was passable.

little know fact, I adore OG ben10.

I don’t think people liked the low piece count, and the amount of specialized pieces that really couldn’t be used for anything else. It was basically an av matoran theme.

Not nearly. The limb pieces, while lacking attachment parts, are perfectly usable for humanoid MOCs. The claw and feet pieces were really cool too. I think the biggest problem with the line was the perceived low value. As you said, the parts count was rather low and I suppose most folks couldn’t justify the above-Constraction-average prices.

The only really specialised parts are the heads and torsos. The current Star Wars Constraction sets suffer from the exact same issues, and yet sell pretty well. That makes me wonder: what would Ben 10 have looked like as a CCBS theme?

EDIT: The Ben 10 torso actually has more connection points then the SW Constraction torso and the 2016 Toa torso. Plus, the sticker is removable.
