Toa Chiara, Lady of the Lightning

Hi everyone!

This is my take on the final Toa of the Yesterday Quest, Toa Chiara, Lady of Lightning. I really tried to keep her limited to just white and dark blue coloring, baring her head, of course. I am especially pleased with her legs, which utilize Hahli’s blended pieces to great effect. her frame was also designed to be feminine without exaggeration, as well as aligning more closely with the existing canon characters.

I think her Volitak turned out well, and it took a few attempts with paint to create the blended style that matches her armor. Green eyes were also selected as Nikila was shown to have emerald eyes, too. finally, her spear can rotate as a play feature, and was purposefully designed to be very tall, as lightning rods are usually the highest point on a structure to better channel the lightning.

I hope you like her, and please leave some recommendations, as I would like to enter her into the fanon contest, once that is launched.

@Rhyla416 Thank you! Those blended parts were the starting point for her build, and everything was centered around blending them in the best ways possible.

Very cool looking with those marbled pieces. Nice job, that spear is neat as well

Reminds me of another Chiara MOC out there…

This looks very nice! I love the marbling on the mask. Does she have a working gear function?

@Stuubh Thank you! Sadly, no to the gear function.

She looks cool, good job! I like the inverted shoulder armour and the mask. I do feel, however, that the upper legs, feet and staff could use a little more blue, maybe just a stud or two, so they’re not completely white. Other than that, pretty solid.

@TahnokTrapper Thank you very much! The inverted shoulder armor is one of the components I’m most proud of, as I think it’s a novel technique. Interesting about your opinion on the white. I purposefully went for a solid color build to appear more cohesive with the marbled bricks. I will admit, though, I wanted to find some dark blue I could put on the staff, but don’t have any 1x1 round plates in that color.

I like the idea of using Inika Hahli’s parts in this.

@Rennova I always liked the choice of the canon colors; it’s almost as if Hahli’s parts were Tailer made for Chiara! Glad you like her.

the painted mask makes it look like she has a beard.

Was Chiara actually Greg all along?

@Willess12 lol, that’s great! Well, the creator puts a little bit of himself in everything he makes…

They need not be dark blue, nor do they need to be round studs. Just something to add colour. I think adding white on blue and blue on white would actually work better in terms of cohesion. Just my opinion.

@TahnokTrapper Thanks for the suggestions! I might tinker around with her design before posting my group picture of the other two Yesterday Quest Toa.
