Masks will be redesigned if further competition. If all of them would look like sets then what is the point of this competition anyway? We challange in building not in 3d modeling another kanohi and spear tip to put them on a set. To be honest there is no bionicle set which look better than its revamps because of budget reasons in lego company so there is no point in comparing sets and mocs.

but it must look like a canon figure. They are CANON contests first and MOC contests second.

Canon = bionicle. Bionicle = variety of charakters and races. Toa from different parts of Matoran Universe look different and toa Hagah are not ORIGINAL TEAMS but teams created from best toa in the universe from different regions. They’ve been unificated with armors, spears and shields but they could still have sth unique in their build.

Show me then their canon representations. Oh! There aren’t any. This is what this contest is for: to create their canon representations. Using your logig neighter of previous contest should happen because neighter of winnng entries was as simple as sets and would not look good next to existing sets. That is ridiculous XD
Awfully subjective. While your build may align with others ideals, and you appear to be someone from the “bigger and more complex is better” community, I would try to steer clear from conflict on these message boards. Your crass language may come off wrong, and any hopes for your entry making it into the contest would be lost.

Nice tower shield. The armor on the right arm is a little comically large, but neat interpretation overall.
Also my dudes there’s no need to hate on a MOC just because it doesn’t conform to your own image of what the hagah should be. This discussion was had - many times - in other topics, there’s no need to rehash it here.

- Calling this moc ‘complex’ is an ignorance. It is easy, nearly staight forward metru build with exception of arms, which are combination of extremely simple custon and ccbs.
- Mocs do look better because mocers don’t have to keep their creation in the budged, they can finish it better It is not subjective, it is a fact. Nearly every lego set is designed to have 1 ‘eye-friendly’ angle and rest is unfinished due to budged reasons.
- What is wrong with my language? I make logical points on what this contest is about. It is not about recreating sets but about create a character which fits into the rules. This one fits. Many other fits. Set based fits as well. Rest is in the community. If people decide that they want another 4 toa metru I’ll fine with it. If they will decide that they want sth more complex I’ll be fine with it as well. Look at Artakha or Helryx. neigher if them was close to official lego sets or canonical characters in thw way of style of building. Just relax and have fun of the contest rather than grizzle about everything.

I disagree. Nurik and Iruini are sets designed to be sold at fair price. They are not reference point in term of building regulations. The reference points are they characteristic features:
-metru chest base;
-spears;
shields with rothuka;
-Shiny accents on masks, feet, shoulders, chest and tights.
Actually Norik and Iruini are sth like custom toa metru so…

I was about to say the same thing. Neither option is objectively right, and you guys are likely never going to change your opinion. Which is okay. We’ll see which option is more popular when it’s time to vote.
EDIT: I guess I should also give my thoughts on the moc. It’s a nice moc. Like your Kualus, the custom shield is very impressive!

Team created from the toa from different regions chosen by makutas to create their guard. In lore toa from different regions may look different. Toa hagah share spears, armor details and shields. Everything else will be shaped as community will like it to.
I guess it should be a replay to my comment. Neighter of what I’ve written there was my opinion. My opinion is that people will decide what they like more and I’ll be ok with it. My argumantation about facts and logic was a response to pointless attack on my moc and it related to official rules of this contest which existance is a fact and logically speaking this moc do not violate any of them (at least for now I did not get any feedback about it). It was not about forcing someone to get my point of view but about rules of this competition.
Btw, thanks for trying to be a voice of reason in this discution
besides maybe the mask i dont think it violate any rules technichally. not tryna attack you sorry if it came off like it just tryna give my honest opinion and feedback lol
