A year ago I made the Toa Mangai. They were decent but I did start to loose interest towards the end of the project and they did start getting a bit generic.
So I have decided it’s time to remake the team.
Here’s the original topic for anyone interested. Mangai 1.0
Name: Lhikan
Element: Fire
Kanohi: Hau
Tools: Fire Greatswords
Lhikan I wanted to be based on the set a bit more so he’s pretty much just a Metru recolour.
Name: Nidhiki
Element: Air
Mask: Volitak (Stealth)
Tools: Air Scythe
Based on the Fanon contest version, minus the scarf cus I’m not a huge fan. I also wanted a twin scythe so that it can split into a pair of swords if needed.
Name: Tuyet
Element: Water
Mask: Korekore (Intangibility)
Tools: Barbed Broadsword
Similar to Nidhiki, Tuyet is based on the Fanon version, not much to add here, she just looks cool.
Name: Naho
Element: Water
Mask: Huna (Invisibility)
Tools: Hooked Tonfa/Elemental Crossbow
Naho has received a big upgrade. I wanted her to look very tactical. Her Twin Tonfa can also attach to her arm upgrade allowing it to work as an elemental crossbow. As well as her back turbines (Took some inspiration from Kardas here)
Name: Aramia
Element: Ice
Mask: Whakamarama (Conjuring)
Tools: Twin Ice blade and Ice Shield, as well as a number of remote controlled drones.
Ararmia has had a big change, I wanted him to originally have no arms but it didn’t look great, so instead he has arms made from elemental ice.
He also has a modified mask that allows him to remote control the drones that he can summon with the masks power.
Name: Valin
Element: Ice
Mask: Calix
Tools: Great Twinblade and Great Shield and yes the blade is made of a pair of Buster Swords.
Valin is almost the same but he’s been hitting the gym lol
Name: Obar & Abar (The Twins)
Element: Ice
Mask: KauKau and Rode
Tools:
Obar: Great Halberd and Hordika blade
Abar: Great Monk Shovel and Tomohawk
Obar and Abar are close to the same but I knew that I wanted to actually make the dark side into something. So the idea is that they were attacked by an ingured Visorak, it’s venom was loosing it’s strength so they were only partially transformed into Hordika.
Name: Radar
Element: Stone
Mask: Whakatairanga (Emulation)
Tools: Saw tooth Blades and Protodermis Knuckles
Radar Hasn’t changed much either honestly but I like this new design a lot.
Name: Orvis
Element: Earth
Mask: Kakama
Tools: Great drill and Combat Shovel
Orvis has had a big upgrade too, I pretty much rebuilt him from the ground up. The shades btw are Gurren Lagann ones cus ya know he has a giant drill lol. (Again taking inspiration from Kardas)
Name: Trevaris
Element: Plant Life
Mask: Te whakaora (Healing)
Tools: Duel Great Mace and Vine whips
Trevaris, still the same just upgraded again.
