The Ogygian Omega Key

Recovered by our heroes in the heart of a spire on the planet Scintilla, the Ogygian Key is the fourth and last of the Omega Keys needed to restore the Omega Lock to its full power- whatever that may be. The Ogygian Key strongly resembles its mates in appearance: a flat, rectangular object with a row of tiny needle-like rods between two triangular protrusions at its end. A large handle is on the other end of the key, in between two ornately-decorated bars of metal. Thin lines of red energy run between four indicator lights on the key’s face, and in the middle is a bar of gold metal with the final piece of the Omega Lock’s mantra etched into it:

"-and all are one."

The verse is now complete, signifying the end of our heroes’ journey is fast approaching.

The Ogygian Key produces red-hued cybermatter which supercharges machinery it comes into contact with, allowing weapons, ships, and transformers to operate far beyond their typical limits to perform miraculous feats. This comes at a price, of course, as the effects of this extreme overclocking wear off quickly, leaving the affected machine damaged and/or fatigued afterward.

So… we insta-fixed the ship. Now what?

Now we’ve been teleported back to Planet Omega- the planet where we first started Part II. There’s something here the PCs missed the first time around and they need to find it.

Gosh I have trouble keeping on top of things. Now I kinda wish I hadn’t made my characters such NPC’s. Ciest la vie.

Any clues you can give on what we’re looking for?

The space bridge deposited Salvation above Sero’s south continent. Do you remember what was there the last time we were here?

The lab/workshop Nova was resurrected in?

It is finally time for those multiverse shenanigans I’ve been promising for, what, two years now? Two and a half? Anyway, feel free to have a few alternate-universe versions of your characters pop up around the ship, if you feel so inclined. No character sheets are necessary for these replicants; I trust y’all to not go too crazy with them (though an element of craziness is encouraged).

Can this involve TOTGA characters?

Yes it will! In a minute, once a few more people get on and start participating (@ValkyriePrimal @ProfSrlojohn), I’ll set things up to allow the Prime-universe TOTGA folks to join in the fun.

I deeply apologize for my lack of activity. It’s not so much that I’ve been busy, but that I’ve been lacking the motivation to keep up with these, if that makes sense. I feel bad for just dropping out, but at the same time I’m not sure how well I’d be able to keep up.

I understand. If you’re not having fun, I’d rather you do something that you enjoy rather than feel obligated to stick around.

Thanks for understanding.

Can I do an alt-universe of Juliana that’s a violent, energetic party animal, loaded down with guns?

I have an idea for a Juliana character arc to actually make her a PC instead of an NPC.

So, Pinkie Pie fused with Junkrat and Max from Sam and Max? Or is it more along Greg lines of Jim Carrey’s The Mask if all those guns he brought out were actually loaded with live ammo?

I don’t really know any of those characters. (Yes, I’m a heathen)

Just think the exact opposite of everything Juliana is.

Indeed you can.

I find it funny how I was intending to reference that Juliana only drinks what is basically water and everyone took it to be a drink shortage.

Engex could require more than just Energon to distill and we expected this mission to take a couple weeks, not several months…

@BlackBeltGamer98 @meepinater Now’s about when you can bring in your TOTGA characters if you are so inclined. The story is that they were accompanying the Excalibur-EX’s crew on a test flight when it somehow got pulled into this multiversal anomaly with all the other Salvations. For them, its been maybe a few thousand years since the events of TOTGA.

The ICS Excalibur-EX

The Excalibur-EX is a prototype frigate made by the New Imperium of Cybertron, designed to test new technologies which will be incorporated into a successor to the CCS Excalibur. The frigate is roughly one thousand feet long, with a sleek silhouette and two ion engines branching out on either side of a large round thruster. Her hull is mostly a matte grey and unpolished silver, with blue and yellow exterior lights running between the armor plating. She strongly resembles this piece of concept art by artist Robert Simmons, with the features described above:

The Excalibur-EX has two main decks, numbered from bottom-to-top. Deck One consists of the frigate’s hangar bay and engine room. The hangar sports a small armory and a ground bridge gate, with an effective radius of 87,000 miles. Deck Two serves as the crew deck, harboring the Excalibur-EX’s medical bay, detention ward, and recharging stations for the crew, along with a maintenance bay for probes and other equipment. Above Deck Two is the bridge, where the captain and their crew operate the vessel. The captain is stationed at the back of the room, overlooking their subordinates, while the pilot flies the frigate from the front of the bridge in a special harness that connects them to the ship’s systems. The pilot is flanked by other transformers who man the Excalibur-EX’s weapons, sensors, and other utilities.

Though the Excalibur-EX has multiple weapon mounts, the frigate has been left unarmed for this voyage.

Crew:

Gravastar

Name: Gravastar

Homeworld: Cybertron

Appearance: in robot mode, Gravastar is twenty-one feet tall, with a slim, humanoid figure and sleek black armor with purple trim. A pair of angled wings rise from her back, while shorts fins come up from her shoulders. Gravastar has two swept-back fringes atop her head, and her eyes glow a dark shade of blue.

Alt-mode: Gravastar transforms into a cybertronian spacefighter, similar in design to Destiny 2’s Platinum Starling ship:

(Credit to artist Kan Xie)

Weapons: in robot mode, Gravistar can reform her forearms into automatic plasma rifles, and she can deploy short energy blades from her wrists. In vehicle mode, she has access to her plasma guns, which are mounted on the jet’s underside.

Bio: Gravastar was a daring soldier in the air corps branch of the Cybertron Elite Guard, where she commanded a wing of flying transformers. She earned particular recognition in the battle over Cybertron 4,930 years ago, when her troops provided life-saving air support to ground battalions on Unicron’s sparkchamber. With her proficiency in leadership proven, she will given command of the Excalibur II upon its completion- for now, she captains test-flights of the Excalibur-EX. Gravastar is the kind of bot who doesn’t back down from a fight, and her defiant spirit spreads to her crew in times of peril.

Redshift

Name: Redshift

Homeworld: Velocitron

Appearance: Redshift is twenty feet tall in robot mode with a lean figure made from the mechanisms of her vehicle form held in shape by angular sections of its crimson hull. These components are studded with numerous blue lights, and her eyes are hidden behind an angular black visor.

Alt-mode: Redshift transforms into an unarmed cybertronian jet, similar in design to this spaceship designed by an artist named Tyler Bartley:

Weapons: in robot mode, Redshift can transform her right hand into a machine pistol

Abilities: being from Velocitron, Redshift is light on her feet and possesses reflexes beyond the norm for most transformers of her size.

Bio: A nine-time champion of the Northern Orbital Games from her home planet, Redshift is the kind of unorthodox and unpredictable flyer you’d want helming your most advanced frigate… maybe. She is energetic, risk-taking and, like her captain, never shies away from a challenge.

Megaton

Name: Megaton

Homeworld: Bellator

Subtype: Megaton possesses a meiotic spark, allowing him to divide his body and consciousness among three separate bodies.

Appearance: Megaton’s combined form stands roughly twenty-seven feet tall. He’s a massive bot with blocky offwhite armor, a broad chest with shoulders to match, and a pair of cannons mounted behind his shoulders. Megaton’s face is a featureless gold visor, and a rectangular crest rises from his forehead.

Megaton can split himself into three smaller bodies. Two of them look almost identical, with stocky builds and one of the main body’s shoulder cannons mounted on their backs, while the third is leaner and sports a pair of blasters on each forearm.

Alt-mode: Megaton transforms into an eight-wheeled cybertronian vehicle which resembles a missile carrier, crowned with the giant cannons from his robot mode. Megaton’s smaller bodies cannot transform.

Weapons: the weapons on Megaton’s back are powerful rail guns, and his arms can transform into plasma cannons. Each of Megaton’s smaller bodies are armed with projectile-based assault rifles in addition to the armaments mentioned above.

Bio: a starship takes many hands to operate, and it helps if a few pairs of those hands are all operated by one mind. Megaton will operate the Excalibur-EX’s weapons once they are installed in the next phase of trials. He is a stoic and battle-hardened warrior uses his bulk and heavy weapons to protect his comrades.

His name is not Megatron. He’s rather insistent about that. Best not to bring it up, really.

Lampyridae

Name: Lampyridae

Homeworld: Eukaris

Appearance: Lampyridae is eighteen feet tall in her robot mode, with a lanky silhouette, long arms ending in four-fingered talons, and digitigrade legs. A pair of large insectoid wings from her beast mode hang from her hips, while another pair dangle off the small of her back. Lampyridae’s armor is mostly purple, with electric-blue lights on her legs and torso and four yellow eyes on her horned head.

Alt-mode: Lampyridae transforms into a large mechanical insect-like creature, with two sets of mandibles, a large horn at the front of an eyeless head, and glowing circuits running along its wings, thorax, and abdomen.

Weapons: in robot mode, Lampyridae has sharp blades on her forearms and the tips of her claws, and she can deploy cannons which shoot globs of acid at enemies. In beast mode, she is possessed of sharp pincers and blades at the ends of her legs, and her horn can transform into a laser cannon.

Bio: Lampyridae is an insecticon hive queen who took her brood with her into service for the cybertronian armed forces. They’ve all been assigned to the Excalibur-EX, where Lampyridae serves as the chief engineer. The insecticons under her influence are her subordinates, and help her maintain the ship’s systems. Lampyridae is possessed of a sharp wit and strong personality unusual from most hive queens, who are typically more passive and impersonal.

Moreyn

Name: Moreyn

Homeworld: Eukaris

Appearance: eighteen feet tall in robot mode, Moreyn bears black and grey armor that forms an open, longcoat over his trunk and legs, which reaches down to his ankles. He is a slender humanoid with a face consisting of a pair of big, round purple eyes and a curved, white beak- like a human plague doctor’s mask. The top of his head is shaped like a wide-brimmed hat.

Alt-mode: Moreyn transforms into a large robotic bird that could be likened to a crow or raven, with feathery wings made from dull metal blades.

Weapons: Moreyn wields a sniper rifle which can transform into a giant scythe, or collapse into a long staff.

Equipment: Moreyn’s hands can transform into a variety of repair tools, and an energon repair ray is built into his right arm.

Bio: Moreyn is an aloof eukarian transformer who left his homeworld to save lives across the galaxy. That mission has led him to the medbay of the Excalibur II, serving as the frigate’s medical officer. With the Excalibur II still under construction, however, he accompanies test flights of the Excalibur-EX, on standby in the event that a crewmate should suffer injury while on maneuvers.
