Transformers: Tournament of Terror. RP Topic

OOC: okay.

IC: Oddball leaps at his doppelganger, shifting into his cloud form as he did so. To his surprise, the sim-Oddball breaks apart into a flurry of cubes, as well, splitting into two clouds to maneuver out of the real Oddball’s path.

Hmph. Yeah…” Backbreaker agrees.

“Then again I guess that’s what happens when you walk in only see the end.”
She said. The raptor predacon then turned to look at Backbreaker, eyeing him up and down.
“Have we met?”

Backbreaker shakes his head.

“Nope,” he says. “Don’t think so.”

The two Oddballs reform about ten feet away from each other, the real one landing in a crouch as the duplicate shifts its forearms into copies of his submachine guns. The sim waists no time in spitting twin streams of bullets at the genuine article, and Oddball once again breaks apart into his cloud form, darting through the barrage before assuming his rocket form. A trail of plasma shoots out from behind the rocket as Oddball rams his doppelganger head-on, knocking it off its feet.

“Name’s Razorclaw. Predacon. You?”
She said, offering her hand for a handshake.

“Backbreaker. Autobot.”

Backbreaker accepts the handshake.

The two Oddballs collide into a wall, instantly splitting apart into their cloud forms. The clouds of blocks writhe around each other for a moment before reforming into their respective robots… inadvertently merging with each other.

"Beep-beep!" Oddball shrieks, staring wide-eyed at his legs, which dangled from the duplicate’s chest. The doppelganger even seemed taken aback, standing stock-still for a moment, before swinging a punch at the torso sticking out of its side.

“Nice to meet ya.”
She said.
“Man, it’s real disappointing how that last match ended. Then again I guess anything is a let down compared to the crazy thunder storm from earlier today.”

“Yeah, that was something,” Backbreaker agrees.

“Eh, but once you’ve seen Optimus Prime and Megatron pummel the tar out of each other… well, nothing compares to that, I’ll tell you…”

The two Oddballs fall onto the floor, resorting to awkwardly wrestling and throttling each other.

“Wait a minute, you saw what?”
Razorclaw exclaimed, quite surprised by the autobot’s claim.

Backbreaker shrugs.

“Sherma Bridge,” he explains. “Heard of that battle?”

Now decidedly not having fun, being fused to an amped-up clone currently trying to choke him out, Oddball reforms his right arm into a chain and flails wildly at the projector, with the intent of shutting it off. All the while, he uses his left to hold back the sim.

The initial match they saw was far shorter than they thought, given the two fighters. So the team sticks around to watch the second fight between Bulkhead and Steeljaw. It was quite a bore, but that was much needed after the stress from earlier that day. After standing in watchful silence, with occasionally jabs and jeers from Tie-Grabber, they finally open discussion.

“Report, learning analysis.” Railgun said quite calmly.

“I could swing better than that!” Tie-Grabber shouted at Bulkhead before answering. “Eh, not a whole lot. Need to see more than one body to figure it out.”

“Looked much, saw little, gained little.” Machbreaker echoed.

“Hm.” Railgun closed his eyes for a couple seconds, taking a thoughtful breath. “Figured as much. Maybe learned just enough to build a body, but not a spark.”

“Perhaps we don’t need to make a spark? Not all lifeforms are spark based. I doubt the Vex share such a core, not based on their construction.” Tie-Grabber said as he thought out loud.

“Mix the Vex and Spark be hexed. Know part of one, part of the other, enough to make it work together?” Machbreaker tried to join in on Tie-Grabber’s thoughts, but his own broke up his message.

“We need more opportunities to learn. Not exactly something we can schedule in at the moment.” Railgun turns away from the fight as it comes to a disappointing close. “And we best get a move on if we are to keep the current schedule.”

“Oh yes! Training night to loosen out tightened joints!” Machbreaker exclaims, mockingly gleeful. He thought for sure the bugs were enough for one day.

As they enter the training room, they see Oddball in the midst of his exercise. They decide to hang back and watch how it goes down.

“Never been one to keep up on my history. So I’m afraid not.”
The predacon admitted.

The flail successfully hits and breaks the device, causing the simulation Oddball to dematerialize. Leaving the real Oddball still a twisted mass of metal, just with half the mass and spared the excess limbs.

Oddball hits the ground, taking a moment to lie still.

Phew,” he sighs, rolling over and using his powers to right his form.

Backbreaker shrugs and further expounds upon the battle:

“Sherma Bridge ran over Maccadam’s- that place’s still around, right? Anyway; I forget what made it so important, honestly, but it was enough to bring both Prime and Megatron to the front lines.”

“Primus. Sounds crazy. So then how’d it go down? Seeing the two most legendary fighters in the history of the planet, duking it out one on one, must have been incredible to say the least.”

Backbreaker nods his head.

“To say the least,” he affirms, echoing her words.

Everybody stopped fighting- and I mean everybody, Autobot and Decepticon- and just watched those two tear each other apart.”

“Man. Wish I could have been there to see it. I mean, not like actually there, like involved. Just… You know what I mean.”

Meanwhile, Railfire had reached a break point in his work, and decided to take care of something that was on his mind. He left his medical office and looked for the minicon trio he was so fond of. First walking past the training center, as it was closest to his place of work.
@ajtazt

Backbreaker smirks behind his battle mask.

“Yeah,” he says. “I getcha.”

“So tell me, what was life like after the war? I mean going from a lifetime of fighting, and then one day it’s all over. I can’t imagine what that must have felt like.”
Razorclaw asked.

“I can’t, either,” Backbreaker chuckles.

“I got jumped by bounty hunters during a siege, and I’ve been here ever since.”

Tie-Grabber claps. “Whirl whirm whirp.” “Nice going.”

He could probably catch a glance of them as they’re hanging back, but not exactly out of sight. Especially with sudden small clapping.

Oddball quickly picks himself up off the ground.

Zip-vip,” he replies nodding his head.

“Thank you. Thank you very much.”
