Transformers: Tournament of Terror. RP Topic

“I’m sure he’ll be fine.”
He said, giving his best guess as to what he meant.
“But I’m still worried. That’s the worst I’ve seen anyone get hurt since I’ve been here. And I’ve been here a long frackin’ time!”

“Different Megatron. Some thug who stole one of the most heavily guarded relics on Cybertron. Some disk or something, it had the coordinates for earth. That spawn of a glitch traveled back in time and tried to rewrite history so that the autobots lost the war. He failed, obviously, but nothing’s been the same since.”
She spoke with an incredible amount of disgust and spite.
“That’s what I lived through.”

Oddball nods his head attentively, letting Hotshot talk.

Backbreaker raises his brow.

“Oh…” he says. “Well, can’t say I’m sorry he failed, but it’s a shame the rest of you have to take slag for what he did.”

“Honestly I don’t know about that predacon Maximus. I thought he was a nice guy, but maybe Gronius wasn’t all that wrong about him.”

“Nevermind the fact that he was a crazed extremist. Nevermind the fact that two members of the team that stopped him were former predacons. One of them slagging died to save proto-humanity. Nooo. Clearly this one small group of lunatics are the same as every other predacon on Cybertron!”
Razorclaw continued, shouting now.
“It pisses me of so d@mn much!”

Oddball shrugs.

Bee-woop,” he says. He didn’t know the guy well enough to judge.

Backbreaker is silent.

“And then they have the bearings to look at us and just say ‘oh why don’t you just try harder?’ ‘Oh well maybe people would like predacons more if they weren’t all cutthroat criminals.’ I can’t believe it!”
She went on. Venting her own pent up frustrations more than she was actually talking to Backbreaker.
“Maybe I didn’t want to be a pirate! Ever consider that! Maybe we have to do what we do because you don’t leave us any choice!”
She shouted. The predacon then froze when she realized what had slipped out. She looked around. As late as it was, no one but those two were in the tribunes. And anyone anywhere else wouldn’t have been able to hear. But it was still one person too many.
“Oh sh!t…”
She said, unable to believe that she let her secret slip.

Backbreaker raises an eyebrow, his expression otherwise deadpan.

“So… does that mean you and the kid have a history?” he asks.

“Uh… Sort of. Look before I explain anything you have to promise me that you won’t tell anyone. I’ve worked too d@mn hard to keep my past a secret to let it slip now.”

Backbreaker shrugs, taking this with a surprising level of nonchalance.

“Whatever you say,” he replies calmly.

She lets out a sigh of relief.
“Okay. Thanks.”
She then thinks about where to start.
“So, Maximus and I don’t know each other exactly. We’ve never met before a week ago. But we’re from rival pirate gangs. I’m a Scavenger. He’s a Star Talon. The Scavengers used to be the top of everything. Our name feared and respected through all of Cybertron. Until one day these upstarts called the Star Talons, lead by their self proclaimed “Galactic Pirate King” Ironfang, just showed up out of nowhere. In just a few years they took our spot as number one, and we’ve never gotten along since.”

“Huh,” Backbreaker reacts.

“Gotta admit, the Star Talons definitely have you beat when it comes to names,” he quips with a wry smirk.

Razorclaw tensed angrily for a moment, but then calmed herself down.
“Yeah… I actually can’t argue there.”
She said.
“What pisses me off is how they just came out of nowhere. That Ironfang guy just shows up one day and makes a name for himself. Before you know it he’s built up a small army and is running everything! He’s unbelievable!”

“Sounds kinda familiar,” Backbreaker comments, putting his hands behind his head and leaning back in his seat.

“What do you mean? Like Megatron? Uh, your Megatron?”

Backbreaker nods.

“Uh-huh,” he says. “Him and Optimus, both. Lotta the famous Autobots and Decepticons you read about now were nobodies before the war, actually.”

“This guy is different though. He’s huge. Like as big as a decepticon. And a dragon bot to boot. You don’t exactly see those very often. Hell I’m surprised there’s as many as there are here. If I didn’t know any better I’d say he wasn’t even from Cybertron.”

“Thank you sir,” their tablet lets out from Machbreaker’s swift typing. The three then leave, filled with thoughts but, as Railgun was quick to remind them, they still needed to do some training.

When they come to the training room, they check to see if anyone else is there or in nearby passageways. They tended to train in the late after hours or during times everyone else is away, never to be caught. If their abilities were seen, they might be conscripted and fights just mean more trouble. But can never be too prepared, must be ready for when they must fight.

Railgun approaches the console and scrolls through, back up and down at random as though he can’t decide. Yet at times he tries going to other sides and other odd prompts. When he finishes, a hidden preset they created appears by its lonesome. Rectifier.

Stats quickly fill out below the name.

Skill Level: 7
Victories: 31
Defeats: 2,586
Activate?

An enemy they were all too familiar with, after everything that happened today, Railgun figured they would take it easy this time. Machbreaker and Tie-Grabber hop to where they would be behind the appearing simulation. Once ready, Railgun hits activate.

The replica materializes and stands quite proudly in the little arena. His size was smaller than it should be, to fit the size of the room of course, given how everyone here was smaller. But now in the room was a hardy, almost bulky black Transformer with a Decepticon emblem happily on his chest, consuming the Mini-Con one. His shoulders ended in domes, with adjustable levers in the shoulders almost where it meets the torso. These levers were pointed upwards, but appeared as though they could be rotated a full circular rotation. Coming out his back were large adjustable throttles, similar to where the car doors on other bots would reside. Both on his back and chest were various lights, nobs, and buttons, all with various markings. Finally, resting on and in his hips as though they were holsters were levers akin to whistles, with the stem angled almost straight up.

The Rectifier simulation bellowed, “Oh Minicons. Oh Minicons! Where are you hiding this time? You know better than to hide from the master controller.”

He takes a few steps forward, flailing his arms about as though searching. A side grin forms as he turns his head, looking at the trio with a side glance. “You shouldn’t leave the rails I set you on.”

Rectifier quickly grabs onto the levers at his hip slamming them downwards. As he does so, they detach from his body and transform. The drums of the whistle-like ends of the levers move forward, becoming large revolving chambers as the levers become handles and other parts move forward to form the barrels. He turns his body around as this happens, opening fire with his now formed and oddly sized mechanized revolvers.

The Railroad Team was prepared for this, they knew he was faking not knowing where they were just as the real one did. They jumped forward into a roll, transforming into their vehicle modes. Machbreaker rockets ahead, the world exploding behind as simulated blasts pellet the land either side of him, just missing. He launches into the air, turning back into his robot form and landing a full kick with both legs square in Rectifier’s chest.

Just as the large bot starts absorbing all that energy, Machbreaker turns back into the rocket sled and gives all the force he can generate. In a massive barrier breaking boom, he blasts off of Rectifier in blaze of smoke and flame. The Decepticon is taken by surprise and thrown tumbling back as part of his chest both melts and crumbles in from the sudden forces. Rectifier lets out a cry as Railgun takes aim and opens fire, sending several artillery shells into the new opening.

Their target loses his breath as his internals get spouts of combustion, crashing into the ground. The sim spits out what would have been Energon as he starts sitting back up in only a second or two of going down. He goes to fire at Machbreaker, who is slowing down as to turn, but Tie-Grabber has already raced to him. At his enemy’s right side, the crane’s hook swings out and snags around Rectifier’s left wrist, pulling it with all his might. The sudden causes the bot to swing the weapon away to the side, his shots missing Machbreaker entirely. However, they land the target Tie-Grabber was hoping as Rectifier blasts his own right hand off.

Screaming, the sim just manages to glance in time the sight of Railgun now upon him. The charging engine sends a few more blasts into the broken, exposed arm before leaping into the air mid-transformation. He punches his cannon arm into Rectifier’s left eye, unloading a round into his head as the barrel pierces through.

The sim collapses, not to get back up this time with a shocked expression. Shocked for his defeat at their hands or shock that his precious toys would betray him, hard to tell. But it was an expression that rarely got old as Railgun stands atop him, staring back with a cold, pained look in his eyes. And with that, another defeat is counted and the sim vanishes from whence it came. Much to Tie-Grabber’s disappointment every time, wishing to tear him to pieces some more.

An easy victory, as was intended. An enemy they know way too well, one Tie-Grabber spent the most amount of time perfecting to be like the real deal. Though if they ever encountered the real him, such a fight would go very differently, that much they were all sure.

OOC: Holy crap these guys get busy.

Also holy fricken crap these guys can kick @ss. Like I get that they’re afraid of being thrown into the ring, and it’s understandable why. But with that kind of speed, teamwork, and versatility, they could fricken kill someone like Hotshot or Demolishor if they wanted to. Maybe even both at the same time.

OOC: Well, if you go to the gym a couple times a week for a couple of years, it really adds up. :stuck_out_tongue:

Perhaps or perhaps not. Things are always uncertain on the battlefield, never can know what might happen or what crazy thing the other person might do. And when you’re a human sized robot among skyscrapers, got to do what you can.

OOC: I think it’s interesting how the only dedicated non-fighters here (Railfire and the minicon team) are extremely more capable and dangerous than anyone might first assume.

“How so?” Backbreaker asks. He had no idea that dragon alt-modes were considered a rarity these days. He had one, for spark’s sake.
