Despite all the hate the Av/Karda-Torans, the Agori, or Stars got for their builds, I still think the Metru-torans are worse than them.
(Minus their masks, those were cool, NGL.)
The over-saturation of mechs & robots in Lego’s lineup of sets wouldn’t necessarily make an Exo-Force reboot problematic or unviable, IMO.
Sure, It would have a hard time standing out from all the Ninjago and MK sets, but I still could see it working in a way.
Mini-dolls aren’t terrible, as many make them look. (The standard Minifigures are still better, OFC, but they’re fine for what they’re meant to be.)
That I can easily agree with. The Av-Matoran had articulation similar to the Inika-builds other characters used, while the Metru-Toran lack the space at their joints for proper movement.
IMO, they should’ve reused the Barraki armor shells on the Glatorians in 2009.
The shells that came with Carapar, Kalmah, and Takadox are arguably some of the most organic-looking Bionicle parts ever been made, so reusing them on the Glatorians, who are well known for being a lot more fleshy in physique than most characters from G1 would’ve been great.
I mean, imagine for a moment, if we got recolors of them like Takadox’s armor in Lime or dark green on Gresh or Carapar’s in Tan or dark red on Vorox or Malum, all the possibilities we would’ve got with these in MOC-making!
It also would’ve helped to emphasize the organic nature of the Glatorians more in their designs, while Lego could’ve spared some money and resources on them. (By not making as many new molds for them…)
Admittedly I don’t think that would’ve been possible with the first wave as the sets are designed first and the story after, but they definitely could have done something like that with the summer wave
