Another Custom mask, this time a bootleg in bright trans-green, painted over citadel mournfang brown. I got the front and back painted, mimicking the official ones pretty well. While my photos are a bit too bright to show properly, the color matching is very good.
It needs a different chestplate though, but I think my Chima ones have run out. There weren’t any colors of crystal that matched this guy’s colors, so aside from the head, it’s rather smooth.
It’s very poseable despite the gear mechanism, which is slightly modified from Skull Slicer’s design. (More friction pins supporting the arms so they don’t slide around.)
I really like this, and the plant inspiration comes across very clearly, especially with the asymmetrical limbs. I do feel as though the big Skull Warrior armor on the lower legs breaks up the flow; I wonder if a different armor would work better? Otherwise, great work!
I’m not sure what would work, I need some gunmetal, because the Jaw only comes in that color. There were never enough armor attachments, and so many of them look weirdly flat.
I could try some older bionicle parts, you can attach some of them to hero factory shells with this little trick:
The Vorox armor is held on by a towball/Flick projectile, and a pneumatic t-pipe. So far I’ve only really done Vorox armor though. It’s such a useful piece…
That mask in reddish brown and translucent green is so delicious. It is a crime that we did not receive mask packs during G2’s run, because the possibilities for color combos on the dual-molded masks are immense.
