I wasn’t realy a huge fan of the 08 and beyond sets, not for the builds or the looks but due to the pieces breaking too easily. I don’t know why Lego decided to go with that route and a good number of Bionicle pieces I have have cracks or are straight up broken beyond repair.
I also didn’t like the sets that use lime green, I find that they also break for some reason
He has the vladek mask because when we were talking in the chc chat, he mentioned he likes the lego avatar firebender minifigs, who used the same mold for a mask as the vladek minifigure used.
I don’t think we ever fully figured that out. Nearest I can tell, the parts were remoulded with a design that supposed to let them have maintain their “friction” for longer periods of time. However, for some reason (maybe the moulds were mismeasured by a fraction of a millimetre) the parts wound up being much more brittle and breakable.
BTW, pretty much all your complaints are related to the manufacturing process, not the set designs. Are there any BIONICLE sets who’s design you really just didn’t like?
0’1 toa.
No articulation in the knees, elbows, shoulders and head.
The gear function made it worse, it made the arms floppy.
they were outright clone sets.
In that case, I really did not like those promotional sets in 2006 (Good guys, bad guys, Golden Good Guy, Duracell Bad guy). They look unfinished and I thought they were designed by little kids with limited pieces
As for standard sets you can get, I didn’t really like Hewkii Mahri set. When I saw Hewkii’s set, I first thought he was some sort of mutant titan than a Toa (didn’t really help that I had nightmares of him when I first saw the set)
