“An ultimatum between saving my friends or learning ancient secrets to power….When do I start?”
-Fraga (Pre-Mutation).

Fraga: “We have much work to do, Kallus. Much work. So many new subjects to study. So many new species to discover.”
Kallus: “There’s a nearby settlement with several strong energy signatures.”
Fraga: “Excellent! Let’s meet our new neighbors.
Kallus: “Shall we bring a gift basket?”
Fraga: “I was thinking…an exchange of knowledge. Let’s invite them to our facility to observe and learn.”
Kallus: “And what about those who refuse?”
Fraga: “What makes you think there’s another option?”

G1: Fraga was a Skakdi scientist and hunter under the employment of an unnamed Makuta.

Early Life: Fraga was originally a hunter belonging to the prominent Skakdi species. When he and his tribe were infected with a rare disease called the Red Plague, Fraga was the one chosen to find a cure. Leaving Zakaz and blindly venturing out, he found an unnamed Makuta who held the secret to curing the Plague. The Makuta gave him two choices: take the cure to the Skakdi and heal them, or stay and learn the secrets to power. Being more selfish than the other Skakdi, Fraga agreed to staying under the tutelage of the Makuta, abandoning his friends to die from the Plague.

Makuta Scientist: Fraga learned very quickly from his mentor in the art of research and development, studying the biology of hundreds of Rahi and prisoners. He was required by the Makuta to dissect various prisoners and augment them with weapons, armor, and body parts belonging to dead specimens. To keep the test subjects alive, they were regularly treated with small doses of Hordika venom to encourage mutation and healing.
Once he had gained enough trust with his master, Fraga was allowed to implement energy that had been stolen from the Red Star. He was even allowed to augment himself with it, as well as scavenge through any tools, armor, and biological matter for self-improvement. He was rewarded by his master, for his hard work, with powerful physical augmentations to his body, including an extra pair of arms, Protosteel plating embedded into his skin, and thermal vision.

Over time, Fraga grew to scheme against his master, desiring to take control of the facility and continue his research. When the Makuta were summoned to Karda Nui, Fraga used the opportunity to submerge himself in energized Protodermis to increase his strength even more. He then began to develop new species of Rahi using the remains of various victims and machines, completely abandoning the experiment his master was conducting before being summoned.
While Fraga was completing his prototypes, Teridax had taken over the Matoran Universe and was now traveling to Bara Magna. Fortunately for Fraga, his master had built a series of tunnels leading to a safe room in the event the Great Spirit Robot was ever awakened. He waited out the occupation, finishing every last-minute alteration to his new creations: a mutated Energy Hound that had been given sentience and speech, and a new species named the Zamor Beetle. The Energy Hound was named Kallus and was tasked with training the Zamor Beetle to obey Fraga.

Spherus Magna: After the death of Teridax and the restoration of the planet, Fraga, Kallus, and the Zamor Beetle fled the Matoran Universe and wandered into a dense forest, where they began to set up a new facility. However, they did not have the necessary materials, prompting the trio to attack neighboring villages and large towns, killing and capturing whomever they could. He was successful in building his facility, where he could torture and mutate to his heart’s content.
At some point in time, Fraga and his minions fought Bokarda, resulting in Fraga’s death by the Toa’s hands. He was later revived by Kallus, but his intellect was lost.

Personality
Fraga was cold and calculating, using this in his Skakdi village to manipulate those who were stronger than he was. However, he still gave in to the aggressive nature his species possessed, leading him to become a ruthless hunter later on in life.

Powers and Tools
Despite being stronger than the average Toa, Fraga was one of the weaker members of his tribe. After being augmented and mutated by his master, Fraga became the strongest member of his species, possessing tremendous strength and speed. However, Fraga preferred to fight his enemies from afar, retaining his mindset as a hunter while calculating various cause-and-effect patterns as a scientist.

Fraga possessed thermal vision, which he used to track the heat signatures of nearby targets. He also used a stolen Noble Ruru to strengthen his night vision.
Using his heightened intellect, Fraga was able to build his own custom weapons, a modified chainsaw and a magnetic cannon.
His magnetic cannon could generate magnetic fields around its target, trapping them in place if Fraga desired. He could also lift debris and hurl it at opponents from a great distance. It was both powerful and intricate, able to tunnel through earth and stone with great efficiency and precision. It was later upgraded for more power and precision with less weight to the weapon itself.

His modified chainsaw was so durable, it could tear through stone like paper, and through metal like wood. It also possessed a repulsive device within it, throwing enemies away if activated. It was later upgraded to have an extended reach with a lighter weight.

Like all Energy Hounds, Kallus was able to track any target using its energy sensing abilities, which were amplified while it was a test subject.
Kallus was a highly-intelligent Energy Hound, its body augmented with pieces of a Tahtorak’s brain and throat. It served as Fraga’s assistant during experiments, eventually learning how to work independently under Fraga’s orders.
Kallus possessed a double-bladed staff which it used for fighting, primarily to cover Fraga’s blind spots during an intense fight.

The Zamor Beetle possessed above-average movement speed, which improved when exposed to water or snow. It was also incredibly durable, able to shrug off normal weaponry as if it were pebbles in the wind. The only substance known to be able to crack its shell was Protosteel.
The Zamor Beetle was able to shoot out energy from the Zamor launchers embedded into its carapace. It was able to perform the following on its targets using these launchers: immobilization, repulsion, limited mind-control, and poisoning.

Set Information
Fraga is comprised of the Piraka Reidak, as well as various Rahkshi, Bohrok/Bohrok-Kal, and Toa Mata/Nuva pieces.
Kallus is a modified version of Spinax with a double-bladed staff.
The Zamor Beetle is comprised of the following sets:

  • Toa Mata/Nuva
  • Rahkshi
  • Metru Matoran
  • Piraka

Trivia
Fraga served under the same Makuta that had organized the capture of Bokarda. It is very likely Fraga himself was involved with the experiments done on the Matoran.

G3: Fraga was a cunning being mutated by Makuta to do his bidding.

Actually, the Energy Hound is just Spinax with some parts reversed (not many), so it’s not a MOC. However, Fraga is my favorite MOC; I like him better than my SelfMOC.

I know the energy hound is a modified spinax, but it looks better than the original in my opinion.
