Looks neat, but I’m not sure about those exposed studs on the wing things on the back of the figure.

Do you have any suggestions how to cover those without making the model itself look bulkier?

You could use one 1 x 4 slope piece on either wing with an additional 1x1 plate on each side to fill in the gap created by the slope piece. It would add a littile bulk but I think the shaping would look better.
