2059: The Invasion

The salesman appeared with a bow, “it was my pleasure.” It said with a grin

“I’m sure some of you may have have had doubts, but this… Salesman has come through on his promise, just like he said he would.”

Suddenly, a Plague Doctor stood up in the crowd. “How do we really know that you are who you say you are? And even if you are Alister, what makes you think you are fit to lead us?” He asked Alistair.

Alistair glared at him. “Are you questioning my authority?” He growled as red energy flowed from his hands. He sumjoned 5 ceremonial daggers with his telekinesis, and shot them at the Plague Doctor in the audience, impaling and killing him. As the body slumped onto the ground, Alistair turned back to the audience. “Would anyone else like to challenge my leadership?” He asked. When no responce came, he chuckled.

“That’s what I thought.”

The salesman stood by idly.

Carlie and Kim board a bus, and sit in contemplative quiet while the bus drives them to their respective stops. Kim had to get off first, heading to the bank where he was to begin his evening ■■■■■. Carlie got off a couple stops later, heading out to wander the streets of downtown. She found that if she looked long enough she can eventually find some of the best cooks in the city here, at a price that was more than fair.

Hope ran after him. “Come back! Please! Ypu don’t understand what I need!”

Elias nodded, taking Mark’s hand. “Can you help?”

“how else may I be of service?” Asked the salesman, bowing before Alistair

“This girl is crazy.” Spider-Man said as he tried to lose her by going to his home.

“So, I guess that is not true,” Bruce told Katrina. “Mark told me she can’t be her.”

Hope ran after him. “Please!” Eventually she fell behind. She collapsed onto a bench and began crying into her hands. “Nobody understands…”

Katrina nodded. “Well, that’s some good news. I’d hate it if one of our friends went bad.”

Spider-Man felt a bit bad and Impulse could sense it as he heard her crying out as he swung away.
“No…you are seriously not going to do it…” Impulse said.
“She’s just a girl and by the looks of things she needs help,” Spider-Man said.
“C’mon!” Impulse said.

But it was too late Spider-Man changed his mind and swung back fast he lands behind the bench and places his hand on her shoulder.
“I actually do understand…” he said quietly.

“At least that,” he said, resting his feet on the console. “Well, there is one baddy we could try and hunt down…”

Llillaa smiles,
“I’ll race you there.”

Grace continued to cry, tears running down her face.

“The murderer? Or another one?” Katrina asked.

“Okay, I’ll…I’ll teach you…” Spider-Man said.

“Well I think the murderer part can be handled by Mark but I meant Nexus,” he said. “You know him, correct?”

Grace slowly stopped crying.
“R-really?” She sniffled.

Katrina nodded. “Yeah, I’ve heard of him. He’s still around?”

“Ooh, is that a challenge?” He asks. “Just let us finish loading, and you’re on.”

Llillaa hovers, his body resting on a larger “air” hand.

“Yeah, really.” he said.

“Yeah he is,” he said. “Though his activity has been so or so hit and miss.”

Kim showed up to his work at one of the numerous banks spread throughout the city. He punched in the time he arrived, and sat down at the front desk ready to greet those looking to do some bank business. It wasn’t glorious or appealing work, but it sustained him for now.

Grace wiped off her face.
“T-thank you.”

Katrina nodded. “Well, then. Looks like we got ourselves another villain to catch.”

Runa watches the loading finish, then hops into Project: Excellerator. “Ready?” He asks.

“…yeah, don’t mention it.” he said. “Okay so, let’s talk more about…your powers, but I prefer somewhere on rooftops, is that okay with you?” he asked.

“Well he is a complicated one at that, he is more misunderstood than anything, I’ve been trying to find his family and I think Jack was right, his family is dead.”
