Arcana: the downfall

“What?” He asks. “Can’t you see she’s in trouble? We need to help them.” He tells Alpha.

Eyvris rolls his eyes, obviously not agreeing with Saras.

Saras turns back to the kitmaj. “But that’s not how it should be! You should be able to live your own life, not be a slave to some malicious god.”

“i…I don’t understand, own life? Slave?”

Tortwig’s ears twitched. She stood up and walked over, her eyes wide. “…another Kitmaj!” She bent down in front of the young girl. She looked at the others. “Please, let me.”
She faced the young Kitmaj. “What brought you here?” She asked, very calmly and gently.

Frostvin stood back, a slight frown on his face and his arms crossed.

“I’ve always been here,”

Tortwig nodded slowly. “Do you have parents?”

“what’s that?”

Tortwig blinked. She asked, “Can you lead me to where you live? Or perhaps eat?”

The child nods, “yes ma’am.”

Tortwig stood up. “Alright.”

Alpha continued struggling to push Saras away. He would give anything just to tell him what was wrong. To let his voice be heard and understood.

Saras didn’t follow Tortwig. “I don’t understand your worry, but I’ll respect it.” He says.

The kitmaj walked deeper into the mine

Quadro thudded forwards. “Query: Might a translator be of use?”

“I think I understand this time.” Saras says. “He doesn’t want me near that poor soul we just met.”

Alpha slumped on the ground, and let out a sound similar to a sigh of relief.

Quadro nodded. “Statement: Understood.”

The kitmaj turned, seeing who was following

Other than Tortwig, she’d also see Eyvris behind her.

Tortwig was right behind her, and Frostvin trailed behind the rest of the group.

Beta watched his brother, and understood his struggle. Beta followed Tortwig. He spoke in a form of binary she would understand.

“We need a voice.”
