And Skull Scorpion isn’t even an option though. I didn’t have SSl but I sort of wanted LB parts for MOCs, and they wouldn’t let me pick him up. It was only the sets on the sign. Maybe they just don’t know what they’re doing lol.
And you’re just assuming it’s the lower half. They have an official design for the upper half, which we know is all the Okotans have, and we know it’s in the same location as your beloved placeholder. We know it’s a prototype of the G1 Vahi, we know they have a pre-established design, and we know that only the upper half is with the Protecors in the Temple of Time. Give me one good piece of cold hard evidence that proves that the Vahi pictured is the absolute lower half, and that it can not be a placeholder. It’s far more of a stretch to believe it’s the lower half than a placeholder.
Next you’re gonna tell me the design isn’t FCC compliant…
I’m just electing to wait until the episodes come out to see what the fragment is. I must also say that Lego has taken a weird approach with Bionicle this time around.
You guys were interested in seeing this when the last poster came out
The same reason as to why the Toa masks are not the same designs as the ones in 2001. Things have changed and should change to make sense in the new environment they are in.
Not really. Placeholders are a thing, specially in these cases where the budget and time constraints are a thing. And when we are talking about consistencies, Bionicle has never been consistent with itself, specially the media of G2 which in some instances (small or big) contradict each other due to lack of proper lore management (which can happen).
May I?
- The Toa’s golden Masks shattering. Now, it is likely that either Ryder saw “the Masks broke” and assumed they shattered, and that Merlan saw that same line and assumed they just cracked.
- Skull Slicer’s swords being fuse to his hands. Lego Magazines aren’t always the best source for canon, so I’d say this could be a mistake. On the other hand, it’s also possible Merlan just didn’t get the memo on that detail.
- LoSS and the GMoSS. I’d say that this mask is exactly as canon as the Golden Kulta Mask or the Drained Kopaka Mask or the Drained Pohatu Mask.
- The Toa taking Generations to arrive. I’m guessing they just meant the generations after Ekimu foresaw them. Mayhaps something got lost in translation.
- The G1 Vahi. Regardless of the debate, that thing is obviously not supposed to be there. It’s not even art, it’s just stock image. Also, @Scarilian "It is still unclear about how much of any media is accurate, given the multiple retcons and inaccuracies from book to comic to animation. " (Quotes would mess up the bullets). True, but the Okto Protector’s guide has been backed up in the past. The tidbit about Ekimu wanting to rebuild his Airship, for example, was mentioned in the second GN and then confirmed in EftU.
- Coloration mistakes in the GN’s. Happened all the Time in G1, too. Not that big of a deal. However, @Eljay there’s a world of difference between a coloring mistake and an art mistake. They’re not even done by the same person.
- Pohatu’s line about LoSS’s defeat. This isn’t even a contradiction; Pohatu was probably echoing what Nilkuu guessed might happen.
Anything else I missed?

Someone needs to tell this guy his artwork got flipped.
wait… did pohatu always have those stone pants…
I realize, but that wasn’t my point. My point was that context matters. Not everything is how it’s supposed to be.
As you and Tesla are assuming it is the upper half.
I shouldn’t have listed it as the lower half - just as anyone claiming it with absolute certainty to be the upper half shouldn’t be doing so either.
This conversation has been peaceful until now, i see no reason for it to be unnecessarily escalated by bringing in an old discussion that got heated - its not what i want, nor what anyone else wants. I don’t see the reason for trying to cause this to get escalated by bringing in an old discussion that got heated, seems like flame baiting to me… ![]()
I have simply enquired for official word from Lego, you cannot provide it. You have evidence to support your point, but no official word. This discussion can go round and round - but with no confirmation then there is no solid proof.
You have levels of evidence based over varying media, a lot of which contradicts each other, which at its very core is still flawed by the mask not looking the same, which undermines the whole thing (@21sselliW has listed some of these for an example)
True, though its worth noting as a side point that designs for G2 are inspired by G1. I wouldn’t be surprised if (when we do see the lower half) that it incorporates small aspects taken from the varying forms of the G1 Vahi.
This brings back memories, back when the original JTO poster was released i made a comment theorising directed the viewers attention to certain points. Nice to see that it was actually intentionally done.
I figured. It was just that the way you worded it sounded like “It we take this as canon, we also have to take this coloration error as canon.”
He has a Perfectly good reason: he’s Eljay. Making jokes out of the discussion is kinda his thing.

And it’s to bring up the point that 8 times out of 10, you have absolutely no idea what you’re talking about or how to back it up. I can not take any discussion with you at face value since you often will pull points or arguments out of thin air with little to nothing to back it up. It’s impossible to discuss things with you since you do next to nothing to validate your points.
As a member of TTV, I have to make sure I know what I’m talking about. I’m not always right. But facts matter. And the matter of facts here is that yes, Lego has not confirmed anything regarding that photo. But there is nothing to suggest or back up it being the lower half other than us seeing the G1 Vahi, and a prototype image of it at that.
Pictures for reference if the thing that Umarak hold was the “lower half” of the Vahi. (possible appearance due to lack of available angles for the thing in question)

(not sorry for the Elephant in the room being the second imagining that looks like a trunk).
@Eljay bringing in the burn. Not what I expected from a Toa of Air.
Whoa. That’s not a good sign.
That being said, have you seen any of the more expensive sets at that level of a discount?
you expected him to blow you away. I’m sorry.
I like that Idea of the mask though. but the thing umarak is holding seems to have a more complex shape.
I blew some of my expectations , so yeah. I think you are somewhat right. ![]()
Yeah its just a hunch at how It might look like, If only we had a better look at the thing in question.
I honoustly don’t expect to ever see the g2 vahi in set form
. I would love to get it but I don’t really see how. what kind of set it would be in etc
Your guess is as good as mine at this point until the end of July when we see whats Umarak been holding there.
Sounds good. That makes sense, considering that the episodes haven’t been released yet.
Would had been cool to have that artifact made of tr.purple and black system pieces but changes are it isn’t coming with any future sets either because it’s already filling it’s purpose here.
