BIONICLE 2016 Discussion Topic

That’s still a subjective opinion.

Well gee, I live in Canada so I have the Kopaka unity set and Umarak. I heard a lot of you didn’t get If anyone has questions about the sets I’ll try to answer them. Personally, I think they’re pretty good.

Shhhh, @Eljay!

Let @Tarvaax express his view. Before he talks about negativity in the board again. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

You could the pencil button on your post to edit it. So they won’t be confused.

lol said that weird. I heard a lot of you didn’t get them. *

Going set hunting tomorrow, (first time since Summer wave gone set hunting… I usually just wait a few month) after picking up some bionicles from Craigslist.
Hoping to find Ketar, wish me luck. Hopefully my first 2016 will be my favorite of them (besides Umarak.)

Good luck! So i’m guessing ketar is your priority set? Parta or the actual thing? I just want to hear different opinions. Correct me if im wrong btw

I love the look of Ketar, and the set itself. So yeah, he’s a priority for me right now.

Huh, the opinions are very diverse I see. Welp actually I don’t think he is as bad as people say he is, but still, he isn’t nowhere near the best rahi for me.

Melum is love~

Although, I think my opnions on Ketar were perfectly stated by Jang

Melum is definitely high on my list, along with Terak. The paws are adorable.

Yeah I like melum a lot, specially cause of his function, it’s just great for me, I just wished he had more of those trans claws. Maybe on his feet, aside from that I really do like him.

And no, this is not one of my bad jokes people heh.

Oh and btw @Hells_Sapper welcome to the boards.

I plan on giving melum some nees and elbows when he arrives, already got the pieces on my desk :sunglasses:

ahem

Here’s just the facts
What 2016 shares in common with 2015 play-wise:

 1. The standard posability
 2. Mask pop-off function

What 2015 has over 2016:
2. Weapons with dual functions(make no mistake, this is a BIG thing)

 1. Arm function

What 2016 has over 2015:

 1. A new eyestalk that makes it harder to knock off masks
 2. Waist articulation
 3. Weapons with attack functions (although one could say this doesn’t quite beat 2015’s dual function weapons, but the fact that their weapons were cumbersome might be enough to counteract that notion)
 4. The ability to seamlessly combine with their partner small figure into something intimidating, and in some cases gain yet ANOTHER function.

Imagine the people in the room are @Eljay and @Tarvaax , then imagine the two guys walking away as if they were the people on the boards

Btw this is just a joke, as per usual probably a bad one sadly.

All very true. Although…

 • The new eyestalks in-turn result in even worse light piping, which makes their eyes seem dark and soulless.
 • From what I’ve heard, the waist articulation is awesome for posing. Although it seems like it’s also rather hard to use, especially considering the location of the gear.
 • Four of them have attack functions, although two of them are just the launchers we’ve had before with the Protectors.
 • They do combine with their partners, without them they’re incomplete. One could argue that is more of a con than it is a plus.

Ordered my sets a few days ago, so they’ll all be here within a few days. Interested to see how they compare in person, however I’m not expecting much.

Actually kind of accurate.

On a side note, if anyone still HAS them, how tall is Onua with your average Exo Force set?

One quick question though, am I the only one that actually like the long eyestalk? It was very fun to use when I played the kanohi game with some cousins.

I like the look of the long eyestalk, they can be used as claws for a trans monster of sorts.

(totally not inspired by Reviving Bionicle >.>)
This is a notable problem, but the eyestalks we originally had were so bad at piping anyway, it doesn’t make a difference most of the time. Hahaha
I have Tahu, and while his waist wasn’t the best at first, after removing the pelvis piece and putting it back in, the function works GREAT.

Four of them have attack functions, although two of them are just the launchers we’ve had before with the Protectors.
That’s true, and that’s also why I was a bit hesitant of using that as a pro since not every combination has those benefits. The idea that they’re supposed to be able to mix and match creatures with each other was what made me decide that it was valid enough to carry its own weight.
You’re absolutely right that it could be a con or a plus, but I’m willing to argue that the sets themselves feel complete without the creatures, at least Tahu does since he’s the one I have right by me at this moment.

Although it is obvious that the shorter and newr one is a necesary evil to prevent the mask to pop off in exchange for you know…what eyestalks are meant to actually do…make a glowing eye effect? Anyway, nothing some led engineering can’t solve, just gonna take a lotta work to do it properly, and also some cutting on the actual piece…and yeah I don’t think this is gonna work.

Happy New Years! Been a little busy today, since I went to my LEGO Store and things. I got the sets I wanted; Onua, Umarak, and Gali. I haven’t built Umarak yet, but I can say this, these new sets are really good, or at least Gali and Onua. I did do a little revamp with Gali, and tried uniting them both with Terak.

The swivel function is interesting to say the least. I really like it, but it can go from extremely squeaky tight to extremely loose, but varies from set to set. My Onua has is that former, while my Gali has it the latter. Overall, I actually like it loser as it is on Gali, because it’s easier to turn.

One more thing, it’s easier said than done ripping off that pelvis piece.
