I hope Kualus stays metal blue. Not just because it looks nice, but also because it’ll push research into metal blue paints which will be useful for the community at large.

Yo, a couple quick questions (I hope this is the right topic to ask this):
4. A minimum of two (2) images must be provided. One of the mask, containing the front, side, and top view, and one of the winning MOC wearing it.
I’m gonna guess we can just ignore this for this part of the contest, right? I’m pretty sure, but I don’t want to skip this and end up regretting it.
5a. While we accept any style, we do not permit any character artwork featuring any characters that appears too human. Examples of that would be a lack of technical/BIONICLE pieces or elements, or human faces on Kanohi.
Again, pretty sure of this, but does the bolded part include Miramax-esque stylizations? Like just a slit in the mask for a mouth

So, how is Bomonga supposed to use the rhotuka portion of his rhotuka shield? If it’s in the name, I would think it important to be able to implement its function.
But beyond this the builds are great. Congratulations to the winners, and thanks to the community for participating in this successful event.
I hear concerns about the torso’s and armor that may be hard to come by but what about those eye stalks? Some are more expensive than the Toa they come with 
.

Building these guys will be a headache. There’s currently only thirteen Bricklink stores selling Flat Silver Rhotuka Shields.
Thirteen.
Not to mention, each store (of course) only sells one each. I think I’ll leave my Gaaki shieldless. Norik too… I decided to piece him out…

Oh yes I completely forgot about those too! I think I will add the shield to Gaaki because she is the only one that features flat silver parts (at least if you build the Rode entry). Then maybe another for Pouks or Kualus. You could also buy a flat dark gold one and spray paint it although that is definitely not ideal.
I do wonder: where are most of you from? The States?

I have met polish, russian and japanese fans, I am a finn. suprisingly lot outside usa. maybe there should be a poll asking the region people are from?

Nope. That rule is specifically for the art.
I’m not sure if it applies to Bomonga and Kualus since their masks are already given, but for Gaaki and Pouks, You have to draw (or provide a 3d model of) the mask as part of your entry.

I see. To bad there are no individual countries but I guess it would be quite some work adding all of them.
It is interesting to see all the distinct differences in parts that are available for EU and US buyers on Bricklink. Like some parts are almost exclusively sold by US sellers whereas others are almost exclusively sold by EU sellers (among which specific Toa Hagah parts).
I already have 2 gold shields, just in case.
Everyone talking about the shields, but no one mention the expensive Lesovikk blade as Gaaki spear. Since it can be changed, may I suggest to the artists using Mahritoran blade? It mantain the original aquatic vibe.
You could also 3d print the model from the Biopack and paint that.

I don’t care much about price since I don’t plan on ever building these, but I do recommend changing her spear tip to this piece. It’d be a trident.
