But we have to realize G2 wasn’t a complete failure though. We shouldn’t just dwell on the negatives. the community and Lego needs to remember what G2 did right and wrong if G3 is gonna happen and be a success. Lego has not ruled out the possibility of a G3, so they need to take what they did right and expand upon it.
If G3 has G2-esque sets, G1-style marketing, and a interesting story that doesn’t retcon itself with each new books, then G3 would be the renaissance of Bionicle
I have a solution to that problem. Get a job, your own place and then they cant say nothing to you then when they see you succeeding. Until then, when you live under their roof they can dictate what you have to act like cause they are your parents, they have the right to do that when you live off of their money.
Thats a que to stop buying toys, and start saving up for your own home so to prevent future such problems. Sure you may lose on some things, but priorities are the key now.
Dude, can you talk to your parents about it? The fact that it’s possible for us to talk on this site is proof that you have a passion for this theme. I reccomend you set down the computer for a bit, and talk to your parents about these sets you really love, and I don’t think you want to hide from all the world.
In other topics, I liked what story it had. It wasn’t a huge overarching story, it was how JtO potrayed it in the Prologue and ending: a story that’s told at a campfire. It has enough open ends to get your creative juices flowing, to wonder about the Labyrinth’s connection to the toa, to wonder about how much was written on the Prophecy, to wonder where these toa really came from. Makuta’s still active, but the Okotans have weapons, as well as the creatures (no longer running from Umarak) and Ekimu (no longer asleep, and has magic light chamber), and that’s thanks to the Toa. G2 gave us a fun new story that keeps us thinking, and that’s what Bionicle does well.
This the last time I’m going to talk about my thoughts on G2 directly. I’m going to talk about it in a rather metaphorical way in my story series, Legends Unite.
Im more inclined to say that the entire story of G2 was told through camp fire stories (did not actually happen in the way we all saw it), thats why the writing for the most part was so bad and rushed.
I will not defend G2, it’s not my biggest interest, but I loved it.
I loved 2015 animations, 2015 Tahu and Kopaka and 2016 Kopaka are easily in my top-10 favorite Bionicle sets, and the atmosphere was pretty cool for me. Skull villains are my favorite Bionicle bad guys along with Bohrok and Piraka.
JTO was okay, but I prefer 2015 animations, cuz I like 2D animation, the atmosphere in JTO was lacking and Toa are just too dumb and behave like TMNT. Though, Ekimu was cool.
No, not really. In fact it makes me enjoy the story more if account that headcanon part cause I know that live storytellers do make mistakes when retelling a story and rush some things for the sake of the viewers. Put emphasis on certain character or events, while brush off on some.
I did in fact love the JTO part where it made Narmoto retell the entire 2015 story cause of that same reason, whose to say it cant be the entire story.
Its not like Bionicle didnt do this thing before, though arguably Vakama is a better storyteller than Narmoto and Izotor, which isnt bad, all three can be commended for their effort (and this actually fleshes out a bit both Narmoto and Izotor cause of that small bit of character info I just gave you about their storytelling methods).
Compare Lewa Phantoka and Lewa 2015. Phantoka was $12.99 (I think?), and 2015 was $14.99. Not that big of a difference. Phantoka had some stuff goin’ for him, like a blaster, new sword and mask, some new recolors, a crummy add-on gimmick with Tanma, and 52 pieces overall. 2015, on the other hand, has dual functioning weapons, a 3 masks (technically), a new gear function, new technic double pin-axles, an abundance of new molds, a unique style compared to the other 2015 Toa, and 86 pieces in total. With that little of a price difference, which sounds like the better deal?
Never say something like that is objective. The only real objective thing that contributed to bionicle’s failure was the lack of marketing.
This, is literally the stupidest thing to come from Bionicle since the g1 Bring Back Bionicle movement.
Asside from how fundamentally flawed your theory is, with no basis or truth, what makes you think, that DISNEY one of the biggest media companies in the world, would bow down to a few hundred (MAX) people writing them a letter or email and asking them to contact lego to release something they dont know about.
All that would make them think is that lego told people that DISNEY was responsible for Bionicle ending, causing friction between the two companies.
Your theory is baseless, make no sense and is really just stupid, please stop spreading it around.
so… does this mean tha Mr. Cup was right and that LEGO was doing damadge control with the questions about G2 failing?
LEGO really seems to not want anyone know why G2 was canceld, thus bringing up the only rational explenation that G2 sold so poorly world wide that they had to cancel it as fast as possible.
I think doing damage control is worst than actually telling us the truth. Unless the truth is that Corporate Lego force the line to be shut down for no reason.
We want the truth about Bionicle G2 and why it was cancelled. Can someone say that to Lego’s twitter, “Why was Bionicle cancelled?” I would but I don’t have a twitter.
