very true but I think we should still be supporting the other projects. let’s not put all of our hype eggs in one basket.
I think we have a guaranteed place in the top 3 if this is correct. That is quite a substantial lead over number 2.
I voted for Rock Raiders as well, that might have been a wasted vote now.
Bionicle definitely should win.
Here is another very good submission worthy of our support:
Wow, that one’s great. They really got the proportions and shaping spot-on.
Grumblebricks is back at it again.
They’re all great individual builds (with my favourite absolutely being the telescope) but I don’t see Lego selling a set with that many isolated sub-builds, unfortunately. It feels more like a proposal for a wave than a feasible, individual ideas release. There’s no clear “centerpiece” for the box art.
Still great builds outside of an ideas context, though. And I’d totally buy the telescope.
Truthfully im shocked there isn’t a push for this one. This is perfect, in my opinion.
Another one:
Gotta love the Great Spirit Robot builds.
another new one
the toa figures aren’t the greatest but that kini nui build is pretty nice
Gotta concur there. That’s by far the best Lego Kini-Nui I’ve seen, and the “Legend” sandpit is a great touch, but the Toa… not so sold.
Gotta love Vakama the Polygon tho
also their mask prints appear to be taken directly from mnog, and I’m pretty sure that’s against LEGO Ideas TOS
EDIT:
Another project has just come up!
I really like the gearboxes on those. Some of the hands look a little awkward, but that’s not a huge deal.
(Also, I think you’d be allowed to double post in this situation)
oh now those are nice
and they have gear functions
Niiiiiiiiiiiiiice
:)))))))))
Blows dust off of topic
I know the ideas hype has probably considerably decreased since the bricklink designer program debacle but nonetheless I’ve started another project.
When I was voting on the others, I found these two:
I like the Tahu vs. Botasaur one, I think it’s funny and cute.
Even if it isn’t actually canon…
Since when did that matter?
Does narrow the chance of it being made a set, it would be like someone designing a made up Star Wars vehicle with made up characters. I mean, that’s how I see it.
Tahu is still an existing character, and it’s not like this doesn’t have any precedent at all. It’s kind of an obscure reference, sure, but there were dinosaurs on Bota Magna.
The more concerning thing would be whether it would be recognisable for a larger audience, or if the set would be fun to build/play. I don’t really think canonicity plays much into it.
