DC Universe: The New Age of Heroes (RP Topic)

It isn’t long into the chase when a young woman begins to skate across the air, a-la Frozone. She gives a quick salute to the following choppers, getting closer to the swinging bot.

The officers are soon forcibly entering the building and beginning to sweep it, working their way up to the roof.

With his copious notes, the building is simple enough to find, and the apartment in question currently seems to be occupied.

As Thelryn released him, the man grinned and began to whip his head forward to lash out at the SCU officers with his hair. Unfazed, the officer toting the energy cannon squeezes on the trigger, a net of energy launching from the end of the barrel and completely entangling him, knocking him to the ground. “Gah! What the- hey!” The metahuman snarls, thrashing in the net to no avail, his hair also unable to slash through the glowing energy construct.

“Thank you for your cooperation.” The cannon-wielder nods tersely. The net was still attached to the end of the cannon by some kind of energy tether. The two officers begin to drag the kicking and struggling criminal towards the back of the van, which presumably had some kind of specialised containment unit. One of the other officers approached the security androids, beginning to view a recording of the incident from one of them that had watched the whole event unfold, while another addressed what remained of the crowd, “Alright, people, move along! Nothing else to see here!”

The choppers continue to follow along, the pilots somewhat bemused at the sight. The robot seems thoroughly unimpressed however, swinging faster away from her.

Unable to acquire a full charge, Iosif darted up to the roof but was unable to lock the door from the outside. There was a fan in one of the air ducts with nicely exposed wiring, which he proceeded to rip out, peel the casing off of, and clumsily cram the whole thing onto his wrist once more.

He didn’t bother to look behind him to see if Hayden had somehow reached the top before the SCU. Why should he be concerned about one normal person with the police on his tail?

Hayden flew up from the side of the building, going behind the kid. As Hayden did this he ignited his body and asked the kid, “What was done?” Hayden paused then added “By you I mean… What was done by you?”

Iosif was slightly startled, but not enough to turn around. He needed that full charge, and the SCU hadn’t made a clumsy ascent up the stairs yet.

“I cannot be found.” He growled over his shoulder - quietly, as he didn’t want his volume attracting attention. “Leave me alone. Make those men leave.”

“I’m not helping a villain, jail is the place for them… I mean you.” Hayden announced. Well, he did for the main part; after the pause he kind of threw his words out uncomfortably and noticeably quieter, that just flopped onto the scene like a tossed wet rag.

Iosif frowned. Some goody two shoes with no idea what was happening. “So I’m a villain?”

The SCU had finally made it up and were starting to pound on the door. If Iosif didn’t act soon, they would be on him.

At the kid’s question, Hayden started to realize he might have made to many assumptions. Quickly losing confidence he asked “What does the banging want? Er… The people who are doing the banging.” As a pounding on the door to the rooftop was heard.

Iosif wasn’t about to stick around to find out. He had his full charge, and two options were available to him.

Of course, running was still the best one. Darting to the side of the roof opposite the alleyway, Iosif climbed over the edge, hung by his fingertips for a moment while he gauged the distance to the ground…

And let go.

Vance went back into the labyrinth and emerged in his suit outside his Lamborghini, and got in. He sighed and put his forehead on the steering wheel. “I’ll just call him tomorrow” he muttered to himself under his breath, pressing the ignition on his car. He smoothly pulled out of his parking space and left the park. He drove in the direction of the suicide slums

Hayden flew after the kid intent on getting answers.

Well, if this a sign of how this trip is going to be, I should probably retrieve my trident before anything else happens, Thelryn said to himself.

The SCU break through just in time to catch the end of Hayden dropping down, and dash over to the edge of the roof to see if they can still catch sight of their quarry.

On his way there, Vance might notice an unusual chase going on up above on the sky rail, between a swinging robot, a girl skating along ice in the air, and a handful of SCU choppers.

While most of the crowd began to disperse, one remained. In fact, he approached the crime scene. He was wearing a deep green suit, and bizarrely purple tie and gloves. The SCU officers immediately groaned at the sight of him.

It was at this point that Iosif, recovering from the drop, noticed Hayden, flying, engulfed in flames, descending towards him. With a terrified expression, Iosif backed up against the door to the building, fumbling for the knob.

“Just answer my question.” Hayden yelled to the kid. “I’m gonna bring you in. Er… at least I’ll be forced to… rather, my hand will be forced. Um… if you don’t answer me that is…” Hayden trailed off. He mentally cursed his awkwardness at speaking, he hoped he wasn’t just confusing the kid.

At this point Iosif preferred the SCU.

“Leave me alone!” Iosif shouted, slamming one hand against the base of the door’s latch while the other furiously twisted the doorknob in every direction.

“Well this is intriguing,” Vance told himself. He took a turn to follow the action to get a better view, and fumbled with his car radio to see if he could pick up any info about the situation

As Thelryn walked away, he saw the colorfully dressed man out of the corner of his eye. “Oh, boy. Here we go again,” Thelryn said to himself. “Maybe I should stick around to see what this guy’s doing…”

Hayden realized that he would need to subdue the kid before he got any answers. “Not answering me got you this!” Hayden yelled as he fire a blast of blue flame at the kid.
