DC Universe: The New Age of Heroes (RP Topic)

Iosif soon found himself trapped in the same energy net or bubble that had trapped the Luthor rally crasher, and, when the officers returned to reinforce Hayden’s two watchers, captured him as well. The two metas were then promptly dragged back to the detainment chambers of two of the SCU vans parked outside, and locked up, before beginning to drive them down to the precinct for questioning.

The pair of them might hear the sirens from before pick up as the vans begin to drive away again.

Iosif was somewhat glad he didn’t have to sit across from Hayden, but at the same time, he really wished he wasn’t alone. Was the whole world like this? Where toying with one outlet in a small part of the city could land you in… Prison? And was prison different at all from Russia?

Iosif drew his arms closer around himself to the furthest the net would allow, hundreds of you should have done this or that thoughts rushing into his head as a suppressed tear finally made it out of his eye and slowly crawled down his cheek.

You know, you’ve got a full charge. You could just-

No. He clenched his jaw as another tear slid down his face. If I’m going to die I will. Now shut up.

Gideon’s head turned in the direction of the sirens. Had they wasted too much time blathering behind the building?

While rather shakey, Adelaide managed to adjust the flight well enough to carry them along the sky, keeping slightly above the height of the tallest buildings. A continual gust of winds kept them in the air whenever they departed this height.

One wing of the glider morphed, turning short, tilting them towards the direction.

“Ever thought of being a skywriter?”

The attempt to kick himself failed.

“What? Don’t know what that is.”

She descended to match the level of the nearby rooftops and did her best to visually track where the sirens were coming from.

If the pair were particularly observant, they may spot a procession of what looked to be three SCU vans thundering down the street.

Hayden didn’t want to go to the precinct, but he knew if he tried to break out that he would always be on the police’s bad side, something he didn’t want. On the other hand, if Hayden went for questioning he would likely say stuff wrong and still get on the police’s bad side. Hayden was in a catch twenty-two situation, and he didn’t like it.

Celsius decides freezing the leg carrying the cargo would be the best course of action. Before she’s kicked in the face, anyway. She falls off her hovering trail of ice, catching herself. She’s now a little further behind the bot than she hoped.

“I would suspect that is our destination.” Gideon mused, assuming Adelaide also saw it. “Wonder why they’re in such a hurry.”

With its new-found freedom, the machine swings boldly forwards. People’s fears of the incident are soon to be realised, as a sky carriage speeds towards the robot in the opposite direction. Realising an opportunity for escape, the bot swings onto the carriage itself, speeding past its pursuers in the opposite direction and starting to tear at the magnetised supports that held it to the rail. The choppers, Celsius, and Vance (@EmperorDuckie) could now only watch in horror as the carriage began to automatically brake as the damage is detected. Even with this precaution in mind, the passengers would have a fatal drop in store if the bot was allowed to continue.

Hayden and Iosif would get the silent treatment all the way back to the precinct, and if Gideon and Adelaide continued to pursue, they would see the vans headed in that direction as well.

What little light was visible in the van which wasn’t coming from either the net or Iosif’s now glowing skin was being cut off multiple times. Were they heading under something?

Adelaide glanced around before noticing the vans. She swiftly descended towards them. “I don’t want to almost die so do that gold thing you do. Gold is definitely stronger than paper.” If he’s actual gold, that might be a concern…

“Uh…”

Gideon glanced up. “Invincible or otherwise, is it really the best idea to divebomb on an armed vehicle?”

An audible sigh came from the glider and it started tilting to the right as it fell. “We’ll hit the bike lane. Shi ft your body to the left if you notice anyone on a bike.”

(can’t type shi ft for some reason lol)

Gideon glanced at the lane. Any sensible biker would’ve vacated once three armed police transports barreled down the street. Clenching his teeth, Gideon prepared for the likely perturbed police officer’s violent reaction as his skin returned to gold.

Adelaide was lucky. He was not literally made out of gold, and there was no weight difference.

Adelaide swooped towards the ground, one final large blast of wind keeping them running straight into the ground.

Answer begins to stumble, banging on the door, of the apartment, and in a slurred voice begins speaking through the door, talking about the good stuff or something like that.

Vance would quickly park and “teleport” to the tracks, emerging in costume. “Slow that fall!” He shouted to Celsius pointing to the train

The image of a man on a white hang glider keeping pace with the police vehicles was already shocking enough, but as Gideon turned Gold, the penny finally dropped. “I hate this job.” One of the officers growled before turning on the microphone of the van’s PA system, “Please back away, these are SCU vehicles and we currently have two metahuman suspects in custody. If you do not comply, we will be forced to assume you are following us with ill intent and treat you as hostile.

After enough of the banging and bothering, a voice rings out. “I’m not accepting visitors, sir, please go away!” Oddly, it didn’t sound like either of the men from before, partially because the voice wasn’t a man’s - it was a woman’s. This was definitely the right apartment, the number was the same as in Answer’s notes. Something was going on here.

Gideon glanced up at the glider. “Well? I think it’s for the best if we do.”

Also, if I get shot, that won’t be an easy fix. This suit is over $300.00 and I now realize I shouldn’t be hangliding in it.
