This one is the most recent, but I have the feeling it’s gonna haunt me for some time to come.

Summary

So, for some reason there was this big battle to get up to some floating platform high in the sky… Once everyone is on it, the bridge to it has to be destroyed so that the platform can move; this task falls to me for some reason. So I go out and destroy a chunk of the bridge. This results in me falling from the sky.

Now, I can land safely. But there’s two other people who were on the chunk I destroyed, a boy and a girl, both kids (like, probably under 13). This fall will kill them, and when they realize this, they are both terrified . The girl cries out and faints.

But this boy was someone I was fond of, and I don’t want to just let him die. So I move through the sky as we’re falling… Push past the girl, and catch the boy.

The girl comes to, and sees me. She realizes that I can save them, that I could save both of them, but I’m not. I’m only saving the boy because I care about him, but her, I’m perfectly willing to let her die. She realizes this, and she doesn’t call out to me or beg me to save her. She just accepts that I don’t care about her, and I won’t save her even though I can.

Dream me is heartless.

I don’t get dreams or nightmares often, but usually nightmares more than dreams. And nightmares are the only ones I remember, because they loop, cycling between which one feels like playing that night. Sometimes new details are added, sometimes they remain unchanged. And on rare occasions, a new nightmare gets added to the rotation.

The worst are inappropriate for this site, but I can give some of the sillier ones. As a preface, I’m the sort of person whose subconscious is strong enough to hurt my body. If I had a dream or nightmare where I got burned, burns will appear on my body when I wake up. One of my most common nightmares is falling down the stairs. So while slipping on my heels and tumbling down the steps may seem tame, I’ll be beat up when I wake…Not that it will be long for that, I normally jump (quite literally) out of bed when I hit the bottom.

Then there’s giant ants attacking my house, destroying it completely, and killing my family. Usually they also attack me and I die, sometimes I can almost fight back, sometimes they taunt me with the dead.

It’s a sort of nocebo effect, just a bit more extreme in my case. Trust me, it most definitely doesn’t just cause a cold to be dreamt away.

Name: Jung
Info: Male, 5’7, Aged 19
Appearance: Overgrown yet well kept black hair, pale skin, and blue eyes, usally covered by sunglasses. Usually wears a hoodie obtained from his missing dad and comfortable pants. Proudly owns and maintains an timeperiod-equivalent bicycle. Imagine Levi Ackerman but less cool and less stern.
Dream: To fly
Nightmare: To be paralyzed, preventing him from caring for his loved ones.
Backstory: Jung grew up with his twin younger sisters and mother, who worked at MENDAX. One day, she found some information that could incriminate the corrupt company. She hurried home, only to find her supervisor there. She was put under psuedo house arrest and required to pay from her savings to prevent him from incriminating her. As the extortion’s pressure began adding up, Jung’s mother began taking the snova pill to ease the stress. One a day turned to two, then two to four, until she was hopelessly addicted. The money ran out quickly, and the state took away the younger twin sisters, putting them in families unknown. Jung had taken up a job by this point, but was forced by MENDAX to be a runner for the ingredients of the pill, else they arrest his mother. Jung one day lost the delivery, and the boss gave the family 24 hours to find it else they both be detained, never to see the sun again. After several hours of searching, Jung gave up and began gathering food for the last family meal. Suddenly, he obtained some of the cracked pills. Seeing his mother desparate for the drug pained him, so he figured he’d offer it to her in their final hours together. They had a meal, took the pill, and blacked out. Next thing Jung knew, he was in a world unable to move at all, shattering the final shard of hope that remained in his heart…

Vices: Jung often takes the blame for things out of his control, over guilting himself over small things, and shaming himself when something is done wrong.

Quirks: likes soup

Before I start, do I have a squid head or not?

Let’s go with no. We have enough freaks of nature that you probably don’t need to compensate; at this point you’re the normal one compared to the rest of the gang.

Wait so what’s the nightmare?

Would it make sense to have people from MENDAX looking for Miles and try to kill him? Or have other reminders of his death show up rather frequently?
