Once I found out Grey Farshtey himself was on this site (at least at some point), I KNEW this was a legit place to show off my ongoing series of Bionicle remakes. Lets start with the first one (my remake of the 2003 Makuta set) for now since I can’t post the dozens of pics I have of my stuff on here all at once since I’m a new user here and can only post 3 pics at a time. I also tried rendering all my Bionicles at once in Stud.io, and nearly crashed my computer instead.
With that said, here’s my rendition of the 2003 Makuta set:
And lastly, in case you haven’t noticed, this MOC only uses parts from 2003 and prior, meaning we could’ve theoretic ally had this as an actual set back then. Expect this pattern in all my other remakes and their respective years of release.
Quite the big boy. Not a big fan on the overly present red in the palette, but I have to respect the grind. Although the Rahkshi casing at the end of his staff is a little confusing, and there’s no image of him dual-wielding to know if that ties into it at all.
Is the gear function from the original set still intact?
Thanks! I can’t remember which screenshot from the movie I used for the back end of the staff, but I believe it was shaped somewhwat to be a Kohli stick, though I’m not sure. And yes, the original gear function is still present.
How about these? I managed to get some group shots this time without crashing Stud.io:
(Yes, this Makuta is a combiner of all my other 2004 MOCs, featuring the same waist gear function as the 2003 model (and Krekka for that matter) as well as the shoulder swivels seen on early Toa sets.
Oh, and lastly here’s my 3 remakes so far of the 2005 Dark Hunter Contest winners, Vengeance, Prototype, and Tracker (alongside his tracking bull)
Vengeance uses the Toa shoulder gear function and Rhotuka spinner, Prototype is another waist gear function user, and while Tracker himself doesn’t have any technic features, a Bohrok-like head-butting mechanism is in his pet bull and Tracker’s bladed gun is intended to use rubber bands to snap the blades forward.
As always, the 2004 remakes use parts from 2004 and prior ONLY, and the 3 Dark Hunter contest winners use parts from only 2005 and prior, just like the original contest winners.

OOOOO
OOf. Sounds like you have the “Non-$100,000 PC problem” Me, too
Prepared for the most goated stuff.
Gets blown away! This is an EXCELLANT rendition of Miramax Makuta! I can see you stayed loyal to 2003, using only parts available in colors from that era.
That is one heck of a comparison! Your MOC DWARFS the other 2003 Makuta. But I do think that the Pakari Nuva was the other way. I also notice how the bottom of the staff awkwardly sticks out like that. Most people just use a Roborider head there.
This is really funny lol. However, I can see that the side view of Makuta can use some work. He has this weird stair-like spine, gaps, and unarmored sections of the legs.
(Yes, he and my Keetongu remake are now the right heights to recreate this death scene. Granted, Sidorak has to be kneeling on one leg as if he’s still picking up Roodaka’s weapon, but this is close enough.)
Thank you! He was the hardest set to make resemble his movie design since the original set looked the least like it’s movie counterpart compared to Sidorak or Roodaka, plus Keetongu’s model had weird part sizes like the giant Hordika foot for his torso that’s way to small for a proper titan set.
Nah, I’m not really interested in Rahaga remakes, or Matoran and Toa remakes for that matter. The remake of Turaga Dume was an exception because of the fact he was a component in the Ultimate Dume combiner set I was planning to do a remake for. Sorry fam.
Oops, almost forgot to post my Roodaka and Sentrahk remakes:
