Does anyone know when the episodes were on in the US? 'Cause I woke up this morning and went to On Demand (Cox) and all the episodes through 44 were on.

Oh my gosh! I couldn’t resist, and I’m currently binge watching all of the new episodes(decent quality videos on YouTube, not that good though). You guys will not believe the mini cameo/reference scene that just passed! Ill have to post my thoughts later, but wow, this season is amazing!

Oh wait, now I have to hold back a bunch of spoilers…

Edit:

Haha, now I’m re-watching them all…in HD! XP

Non-Spoiler Review: This season had a great plot, and personally I love how it panned out. I was half-expecting things to be rushed, but the story progressed at a surprisingly well-balanced pace. The character development was fairly well-rounded, and I really liked the integration of each character, even smaller roles (ie. Pixal within Zane, Dareth coming along for the ride, plenty of others as well). I also really enjoyed how they worked each of the sets into the plot. They were utilized appropriately and at fitting times, and I thought only a few of them were shoehorned in. The animation was good as always, fight scenes and visuals were very immersive. Another thing, the references and cameos were awesome in my opinion. Things like the Ultra Agents characters in the tournament (one in particular that I mentioned before) put in here and there were nicely done. On the topic of references, the callbacks to earlier seasons and episodes was also nicely done. One last thing off the top of my head for now, the way this plot links to the next (summer wave) is somewhat subtle, but by the end it all makes sense! In the last few episodes it really comes together, and I just can’t wait to see what happens next!

Don’t ask me for cons, because I’m terrible at pointing out the bad…

Might post a spoiler review later, or just more in-depth thoughts. How does one use the blur effect on text?

I’m eager to see 'em!

Alright, I’m going to start up a spoilers review here. I’m going through each episode individually, and hopefully I won’t drag on too much. This is one of those not-so-thorough reviews, so if you do read, keep in mind my opinions aren’t very descriptive and are more or less biased because I’m not that great with criticism and cons. Here I go!

Episode 39
Pretty much felt the same way as the TTV crew put it in their coverage. The action was very good, with the characters battling it out all over the place. The animation of Cole’s “making trouble” sequence was pretty good. It actually convinced me he was going for a legitimate escape until he was caught, then I remembered he was gunning for Zane. I do agree that the way they handled Skylor as the spy was not the best. It was pretty obvious and kind of offset the episode because most could find that out early on. With that, the tension built around the mystery felt a bit unnecessary.
Nya’s mission was a nice integration of the character, and I was totally rooting for her when she broke off from Chen, saying his feet stink, warding off two soldiers, and dodging Chen’s ice attack! Then the chase and fight with Clause, awesome!
Dareth’s scenes, probably some of the best this episode. Each time he was rocking out I immediately thought back to the podcast about Elvis discovering Ninjago. XD In addition to that, the chase scene was also nicely done. “Bad autopilot, bad autopilot!”
Then the end of the episode, still a good surprise revealing the Chen-Skylor father-daughter relationship, nice way to end it off.

More to come, need more time to compose my thoughts and get 'em out, shoot!

was I the only one actually surprised that Skylor was the spy? I mean, I knew she was Chen’s daughter, but I still thought she was good.

I figured it out as soon as she pulled the “Don’t you trust me?” card.

But that wasn’t because she had something to hide. She didn’t have a tattoo on her back.

Look, all I’m saying is that if she were gonna not be the traitor, she’dve been more than reasonable.

Episode 40

Solid episode in my opinion. The start was pretty well explained, and by the end it actually had me surprised with some of the twists within. The reintroduction of Lloyd’s elemental dragon (in green now) was pretty decent, more on that later. Honestly I thought it was clever on Chen’s behalf to have the Nya-hunt as a tournament challenge. XP The action and pacing progressed really well, the multiple plot lines running didn’t take away from one another. The Cole-Zane plot was subtle, but handled nicely (and of course Dareth gets in on that one), and Garmadon’s history with Chen was given a nice set of flashbacks. The integration of Garmadon’s relation with Chen, and Chen’s involvement with shattering the truce with the Anacondrai and other Serpentine made for some good content. On a side note, I rather like the whole letter situation, as much as it was slipped in for the sake of coming back to bite at a later time. Also, this is where we learn that the Anacondrai were banished by Garadon to the Cursed Realm. I rather like the concept since it makes sense in the philosophy of Ninjago, having a “spirit world.”
I was bit surprised at how this was the episode where all heck broke loose and Chen finally just went after everybody. Skylor being a spy unbeknownst to Kai was just more of the same from last time, but thankfully it gets cleared up by the end.
One of my favorite scenes, the mech vs rock battle, while short, was pretty cool. Then it cuts to Skylor and Kai, who finally figures out she’s the spy when she uses ice powers. I would have thought she would have been more subtle about it, but the Chen came along, so I guess it was alright. At the end of the episode the big point drops, where Nya, Lloyd and Garmadon, being the only ones left un-captured, find out the spell is to transform Chen and his army into Anacondrai, not resurrect them! That, I thought, was really well done. The curveball that the Anacondrai we get in the sets are actually imposters just made me feel good about being duped (although I’m sure plenty had already called it).
The humor, still good. The animation was more or less the same. Running through the jungle felt pretty reminiscent of past episodes and seasons, but nonetheless, it was still very immersive.Once again touching upon the integration of sets, still pretty well done. The Electro Mech was one of the only sets I felt were a bit of a stretch, like the Jungle Raider. Nicely introduced, but from another perspective it seemed kind of shoehorned. Oh yeah, and another set is hinted at, pretty easy guess which one it is. A lot of this episode was setting up for the next few, so it’s easy to forget a thing here or there, but looking back, this was a pretty important one. Overall, another good episode!

Yeesh, well that was a brain dump…read if you want! Onto the next one!

Episode 41

This was an interesting episode. A lot of good fights and interactions in this one.
First off, despite the effort to make Kai seem like a traitor, I think it was pretty obvious he hadn’t turned. Chen’s offering of info on his parents did seem intriguing though. Too bad it wasn’t really explored. Skylor’s ■■■■■ towards the good side was also done pretty well in this episode. On a side note, Chen is a very…funny villain, and I’ve got to say his personality has grown on me. XP
Oh boy, and the formal introduction of Chope and Kapau, the new comedy duo. I had mixed feelings about these guys at first. I mainly thought back to Kruncha and Nuckal. Over time, they grew on me, and just wait to see what happens next, because they stick around a bit longer. XD
Then comes Garmadon vs. Clause, starting off actually pretty intense. Afterwards when Garmadon and Nya are tied up, it was a nice touch dropping that reference again with Clause’s pet. “That’s the second biggest snake I’ve ever seen!”
Then comes Lloyd vs Chen, another great battle sequence! Also pretty intense! It was cool seeing Chen utilize the elemental powers to toy around with the green ninja. Classic Ninjago lesson of the day comes about, but as per usual, it fits.
The introduction of the Boulder Blaster arrives, and I thought it was amazing! “That’s not a noodle machine!” The whole idea that “its a jet underground?!” and the humor in those scenes made it all the more enjoyable! Cole going trigger-happy and the whimsical music was great. Now that the whole group is holed up in the factory, the breakout was all the more satisfying. And what else do they do on their way? They knock out the second biggest snake! (RIP in piece second biggest snake) Also, another side note, Karloff is getting a lot of attention, like I mentioned in my on-spoiler review, certain minor characters have gotten pretty nice integration (and lines).
The climatic battle of this episode was really cool, especially when the masters got their elemental powers back. Then again, the scene right before where Chen and his army are already getting pwned by trapdoors and ice blocks was also great. Of course Kai holds the staff for a minute and starts to get corrupted. That was a nice touch, I thought.
The ending was alright. Chen gets away with some of his soldiers, of course, and the episode ends in the usual happy go lucky celebration. Either way, a pivotal episode transitioning from the first batch to the final few episodes.

Yes, yes, another one. I can’t contain myself. :stuck_out_tongue:

Episode 42

This was another interesting episode. I’m pretty sure we were all expecting Chen to use Skylor’s power to obtain all of the others, and exact the transformation spell. Although, Garmadon turning was a big surprise, Skylor too! I l totally laughed at Jay’s reaction “Snake among us!” Also, the scenes with her using all of the powers looked sweet!
Zane taming his inner-dragon was…alright. It was going to happen somehow, but the context of Zane facing it as fear was a bit jarring, considering past dragons. Speaking of which, what ever did happen to the four headed “Epic dragon?!” I did like the Zane-Pixal interaction, a nice integration for her minor role these days.
Garmadon vs Clause round 2, just as awesome, and better! I felt the action was really well done, and it ends in Clause’s banishment to the cursed realm (hint, wink, nudge). Besides that, I felt it was actually a good end to the villain, for now (?). It also gave Garmadon more time to show off his awesomeness. Oh, and that whole “Never let your guard down” thing was typical and cool, I guess.
In the end, the enemies head for the Ninjago…again…but ow with all of the vehicles, mean!
Honestly, I both liked and disliked the idea of the elemental dragons. One way, it’s a nice basic idea, everyone can awaken theirs from within, and that works pretty well considering past Ninjago stuff. It also just means more dragons!!! On the other hand, it does seem like a pretty cliche plot point, one that, as stated before, Ninjago has had a fair share of (golden weapon vehicles, true potential powers, even Spinjitsu itself a little). It will likely become one of those “at first it was impossible, but now we call upon them whenever” situations.
No fear, and full focus (sort of)? I’d rather go with Green Lantern’s powers. He could probably make a dragon if he wanted. XP

Episode 43

First of all, this was an awesome episode for having all of those cameos.
The reintroduction of Pythor was also great. It was very fun watching him shrunken down and being teased by the others. The fact that he was needed and the spell was not complete was a nice way to integrate him in. Again, great use of minor characters.
The prison was a nice setting, and I was surprised at how they had a tidbit from each year, and that it made sense. The breakout was nicely done, Cole bashing through the walls was a nice touch. Also, if anyone noticed the numbers on the prisoner’s outfits, Pythor’s in particular: 86753, is the number of a Lego set named prisoner! XD
The ending was sort of rushed, the trucks falsely dragging the ninja/masters out, but pretty good considering it set up the finale pretty well.

Episode 44 + Season Review

For a season finale, I thought this was great, and a really solid ending to the story arc. Definitely one of my favorite episodes. The ninja are separated, and Chen is wrecking havoc. Dropping the bomb on Wu and Misako about Garmadon’s letter, how mean! The false truce, too.
Pythor also being a pivotal character this episode was cool to watch, considering he’s been around pretty long in this series. Garamon’s sacrifice was a good fit in my opinion, but I do agree that it seemed just a tad bit rushed and exaggerated.
The fight of he Corridor of Elders was visually amazing, a really nicely done fight scene (which I can’t stop saying for some reason).
I literally cannot stop fanboying over the Bionicle reference. (For those who didn’t catch it: when Lloyd is banishing Garmadon, the last word of the curse it Bohrok !!!)
A bit saddened that Skylor wasn’t inducted into the ninja roster, but I can handle it. Hopefully she’ll appear next season somehow.
Like I said before, the integration and balance of characters this season was great. Pythor, Clause, the guard duo, all really nice to see. As for the next season, the Morro-ghost-cursed realm saga, I’m totally down. I felt the way they led in fit when it came down to the last few episodes. Before, I had no idea how it would all connect, but now I think we can all make a few solid guesses at what’s to come. In the end, I really really enjoyed this episode, and the season as a whole!

So the ninja get NRG like forms again? that’s pretty cool.

This wave also seems to have a very high focus on transparent neon-green.

I just saw the last episode (episode 44). Phew… it was pretty good.

Overall, there’s a lot to love in this series. What impressed me a lot was how they managed to get a specific feel across in each episode (if that makes any sense).

MAJOR SPOILERS FOLLOW

I really like how they brought back all the old baddies for that prison scene. Also, the ending totally took me by surprise. Garmadon sacrificing himself… but I don’t know. The battle at the Corridor of Elders was a bit underwhelming, so his sacrifice felt out of place to me.

A few character videos were released recently. Some are of interest I feel.
This one and This one right here. Pythor’s should be take not of.

Yes, she did. She shapeshifted to make it appear as if she didn’t have a tattoo on her back. I’ve seen the rest of the episodes up to 44, I would know.

Zane.
