Salvation: Part II

"Don’t you find it all so pointless? " he asked, “All this fighting, all this death and destruction, why? Because it’s what we do?”

“Oh, that!” She said, “Spectrum healed it up pretty quickly. I wen to see Redstocker in jail earlier, but he wouldn’t talk to me.” She continued, looking disappointed.

Alterion and Gronius saluted each other via a head shake.

Topside shrugs.

“I reckon we all have our own reasons,” he says.

“Is the hack going to let us in?” ■■■■■■■■■■■■ ponders, annoyed, “or am I going to have to endure these philosophic ramblings for a while longer?”

“I’d contribute to the discussion, but I’m more of an expert on the human condition than warfare,” Thrift comments. " ‘Less o’ course, y’all wouldn’t mind me relating unto you the intricacies of Evangelion."

“Kindly don’t ,” ■■■■■■■■■■■■ replies, with a notable lack of kindness.

“I guess we won’t know until we knock” he says, doing so.

“Please don’t. That ending scene still gives me nightmares.” Gronius said as he approached the doors and tried to push them open.

Responding to their touch, the glyphs on the door flash blue, and the apparatus assumes a fluid consistency and retreats into the wall around it. Beyond was a sliver corridor lit by elegant sconces on the wall that projected wispy beams of plasma up into the ceiling.

“Fancy,” Topside notes. “Gotta love the architectural tastes of our ancestors, eh?”

“Let’s get this over with,” ■■■■■■■■■■■■ grumbles as he walks inside.

“Same here, friend,” Thrift agrees.

“Megatron may have weaponized cosmic rust, but it was the human mind that conceived End of Eva,” the merchant points out. “Think on that, if you will…”

“Intriguing.” he says as he follows the captains.

Gronius nodded to Thrift, before he shook his entire body as the result of some strong chills on his back caused by the memory of the discussed scene.
Alterion entered the room.

“Does that guy still expect you to say sorry to him?”

“I don’t know, he didn’t say anything.”

Spectrum continued to follow Pixel, wherever he was going. @ToaNoah_Wafflemeister

SideStep continued to wander through the town, with no specific goal in mind.

The Splitter Brothers continued their search for a bar.

The group eventually comes to a set of stairs. The walls were decorated with relief carvings of scenes described in The Covenant of Primus, particularly those concerning the Thirteen.

“Ugh, stairs,” Thrift groans. “We’re highly advanced robotic organisms, for spark’s sake! What did the Knights have against elevators?”

SideStep might see that most of Salvation’s crew had left the Fleetcarrier and were now in the town, as well. They- SideStep included- were garnering a great deal of attention from the pilgrims.

The two might find the ancient structure-turned-pub that Zepar also happened to be in currently.

SideStep glanced at a nearby pilgrim scornfully.
“Haven’t they seen a 'Con before?” he muttered to himself.

ooc: there’s three. :stuck_out_tongue:
IC:
Lightshift, Thrust, and Vigor made their way into the bar, chatting animatedly in Ancient among themselves.

“It keeps you in shape” He says with a chuckle, and begins to climb.

The pilgrim thus backs off, not wanting any trouble.

OOC: whoops

IC:

This turned a few heads. Some of the pilgrims, it seemed, understood Ancient fairly well.

Grumbling and rolling his optics, Thrift follows.

SideStep smirked and chuckled, continuing on his way.

The three brothers paused as soon as they entered.
“…Hi.” Thrust gave a tiny wave, then walked towards the bartender.
His brothers followed him.

Gatecrasher continues climbing.

If SideStep, by chance, looked out toward the massive island out in the distance- the one awash in strange white light, he would see a strange sight: silhouetted against the aforementioned wall of light were the tall and elegant towers of Iacon. They looked unravaged by war, unlike how the great city appeared when last SideStep may have seen it, and some of the features of the megalopolis seemed unfamiliar- new, almost; as if this mirage was showing some future vision of Iacon…

Barkeep was at her usual post- behind the bar.

“More of ya, huh?” she quips, noting the brothers’ sigils.

The carvings of the Thirteen moved slightly as Gatecrasher walked past them- a depiction of Prima locked blades with Nemesis Prime, while Optimus opened the Matrix of Leadership, and so on. Strings of shifting cyberglyphics run down between the murals, spelling out verses from an older version of The Covenant of Primus.

■■■■■■■■■■■■, despite himself, steals a glance at the display as he climbs.

Gatecrasher did as well. “I wish I could read these” he said to himself

Gronius and Alterion kept following.
