Star Wars Anthology Films (Minor Rogue One Spoilers)

Wow, I never realized how fake those costumes looked. The costumes from Rebels look more believable and threatening…

Well, the AT-TE’s probably couldn’t have been destroyed by Ewok traps. Their legs are too short. Then again, their speed would probably make them downright useless on Endor.

But if they Empire had actually deployed Juggernauts on Endor, it would have been a slaughter. :stuck_out_tongue:

Hmmm, not entirely sure. We’ll probably get an official Lucasfilm date soon enough.

From an IRL standpoint, it’s perfectly understandable, it’s perfectly understandable why ANH is the reference point. That being said, the formation of the Empire does sound like a pretty decent reference point.

Wow. I never noticed that before. I guess the ESB one is the one used in most promo material. The ANH one just looks weird to me.

I don’t think they do. That’s probably just nostalgia talking though. :stuck_out_tongue:

Just to say:
Juggernauts and AT-TEs are my favorite land vehicles in SW.
You think we’ll get an Anthology film in that era, so I can see more of them live action?

Maybe an Obi-Wan movie.

Me too! And AT-RTs, and AT-APs, and AT-OTs, and UT-ATs…

I’m just a massive SW vehicle dork (especially republic stuff). :stuck_out_tongue: And don’t even get me started on Clone Trooper armour…

A live-action Clone Wars movie…

Sadly, it probably won’t happen. Lucasfilm seems to be staying focused on the OT/ST era for now.

We seem to have the same views on this. :+1:
I could talk for hours on Clone Trooper armour and it’s varieties.

Yeah, it’d prob be better to fanboy over this sorta thing on the main Star Wars topic though…

I would have preferred it if they had just finished what they started with the force awakens BEFORE putting in this filler movie.
Seriously.

Why are you complaining about a movie that doesn’t affect the production of episode VIII? That’s like complaining because you got a bonus.

Oh.
I had been under the illusion that focus was being diverted to rouge one.
Never mind.
It’s cool.
I still want episode VIII sooner, though.

Do you actually think episode VIII would have started production earlier if Rogue One didn’t exist?

No, I thought Disney had been focusing more on Rouge one, leading episode VIII to have its production slowed.
I’m not saying I was being smart.
I’m just saying I wish episode VIII would come sooner.

Well between VII, VIII and IX, there is a planned 2 year gap between each. The previous star wars films had a 3 year gap between sequels so i don’t see the problem compared to previous star wars film schedules. Plus the longer they are giving us a film between each numbered film to fill our appetite for them. And the longer they spend on the film increases chances that it should be good, so wanting the film quicker might not be a smart think to wish for as it would rush Disney and increase the chances the next film will be subpar

I get it, I was dumb.
I guess I’ll just have to see if rouge one impresses me or is alright.

Until I heard reshoots were going to make it more “fun and adventurous”, Rogue One seemed like it had a Clone Wars tone, taking a more serious war-based direction and focused on soldiers and bounty hunters. Still, I hope that the reshoots don’t change the movie much. And we better get a full trailer soon.

Maybe Boba will make a cameo, but I think they should get Cad Bane into the Boba Fett movie.

Interesting perspective. I hadn’t considered that it might be similar to TCW. Either way, I don’t want it to turn out to be a tonal carbon copy of TFA.

Hadn’t seen an HD image of the tank before. Nice! It looks fantastic, it’s just a shame that it’s so ridiculously parts-dense that it won’t be affordable to army-build.

I really like the idea that we’re finally getting a canon Imperial ground tank. We had the assault tank from one of the Marvel comics (which honestly looked like a cross between an AAT and a church bell).

This new RO tank seems to have some (very limited) similar design elements as the TX-130 from the old Battlefront games (anyone else remember that vehicle? It was an absolute blast to drive).

Still, the new tank makes a bit more sense then the slightly silly (albeit charming in my view) TIE Crawler:

I don’t think it will be. People freaked out a lot about the reshoots when they were first reported, but those reports were seemingly over-exaggerated. After all, most–if not all–films undergo reshoots, and Mads Mikkelsen recently discussed them in an interview, saying that he saw no evidence of them being anything but cosmetic, just “scenes with people talking in ships” if I recall. So, I think it’s still safe to assume Rogue One will be as cool as it looks in the trailer…

Yeah. Not sure why the movie comes out 1 day later than Force Awakens did, yet the sets come out a month later.

@legomaster1378 Same worry. Every Star Wars movie shouldn’t try to copy the tone of TFA.

My only complaints about the tank are the lack of any regular stormtroopers or sandtroopers and this:

Those are some of the best SW sets I’ve ever seen.
And those minifigs are PERFECT.
