And how is that?
Conceivably by convincing Pernille to let him out.
I’ll say this: Whether or not Henderson convinces Pernille or not, I want Syn out by your next post @keiththelegokid
Dang didn’t realize how stacked with good rp this rp was, might have to join if signups ever open up again.
doggone right
see if you can convince a few other users to join and I’ll consider it
I may have an idea for an actual Revenant soon. I’ll need to get it written first…
Strums an imaginary stringed instrument that I have no idea how to play.
Oh hey there. While we wait here for next story bit or for a chance of sign-ups to reopen, how about I tell you some of my other Revenant ideas? Who knows, maybe you’ll be inspired and wait in line for your own wacky concepts.
“Is this your card?”/“Heart of the Cards” – Before settling on my brand-powered Revenant Sumbolon as my initial entry, my first idea was to do something like DC Comic’s Tattooed Man. Wanted something that had wide potential, but limited to specific images or wording. And due to an older RPC of mine, I figured that limitation would be playing cards. Whatever ability/effect that playing card has in its game now applies IRL. To help balance it, whatever card was used would be destroyed in the process.
Now the immediate thing you’re probably thinking of using is the Uno Reverse card. And because Uno cards are both cheap and sold everywhere, even local gas stations, it would make them very easy to obtain. Meaning even with the the cards being destroyed and being limited to a physical supply, that would still make this power too cheap and easy to abuse.
But that’s not the only thing it can do. I said playing cards, which includes cards used in board games. Someone bugging you? Well that Straight to Jail Monopoly card sure is useful. And of course, any TCG makes the power level go up and up. Though what happens if you use a standard Two of Spades? What happens? Does the Revenant get to decide which game is being applied? I couldn’t answer that question. Between that and the power being too easy to abuse, I dropped the concept.
“Nothing is new under the sun” – Vanity. Vanity. All is vanity. This idea came about more from trying to think of opposing character dynamics first. An artist of some kind trying to prove they can make an original work and a Revenant seeking to find something truly new and original but believes it to be an impossibility.
The power would have been to reveal, and revert, anything to the most immediate thing it is derived from. If you gave this Revenant a handgun and said it was an original design, this power would cause said handgun to revert to the closest previous version of it. And it can keep being reversed all the way until it is nothing but basic components. Everything humanity makes is derivative, it’s made from something already here, some just have a longer journey than others.
And they can do this to concepts and ideas as well, but not in a reality-altering way like the handgun. Moreso revealing all the other concepts, thoughts, etc. that idea is built upon and what those were built from, etc. Also, this power can restore the handgun back to the state it was in prior to being reverted, but it can’t be advanced forward.
This concept was dropped prior to seeing a lot of similar Revenant powers getting rejected. Largely due to this one having the same problem as Sumbolon’s; depending on what this power is used on, that’s a lot of homework. Even though, like Sumbolon, that’s homework I imagine I would be doing.
To be clear, I’m still waiting on another @keiththelegokid post to let Syn out, but in the meantime @MakutaOisli does have another character that’s been a bit neglected who could use a few posts…
@keiththelegokid @MakutaOisli think the turn order’s on you now
Thank you all for replying, ill try to chime in later today.
Unless I am mistaken, it is @ghid’s turn?
Alright look bud
Wild’s been held up multiple times by you either neglecting to post as Dan because Syn is really just that interesting to you, or you’re deliberately ignoring him for whatever reason. Regardless of why, it is happening, and it’s happened enough times to not simply be coincidence.
I don’t want to consider how in the world I’d save Emm and Henderson from dying if I’m forced to remove you from the rp, but I will do it if this keeps going on like it has been. If you’ve got time to write up a large post about Syn being a petulant 13 y/o with puberty rage, you have time to respond to Wild as well.
and uh @TheMOCingbird, you might want to think about attending the site a teensy bit more frequently. Your presence is sorely missed and poor Nota keeps sending me sad emojis in PM
Probably just gotta slow down.
Tempest post tomorrow, ended up going down the rabbit hole and finishing BoS tonight
I don’t remember writing that one
Shh, its not a book and theres no trains, definitley not yours
Hopefully its worth a character though?
Henderson’s called Syn away; he doesn’t get to pop back out just 'cause he feels like it
Didn’t say how long. Or when. Or how.
Doesn’t matter, doesn’t matter, and doesn’t matter. Unless Henderson’s called him back out, he doesn’t get to simply walk back into the scene just because he feels like it. If he enters the chain by his own volition he can leave whenever he chooses, but since Henderson called him there it’s up to Henderson to decide when he gets out.
Also, I know the post isn’t confined to Henderson’s vision because Syn addressed Blockade directly.
Alright so
@TheMOCingbird hasn’t posted in the topic since May 9th and has appeared on the site since that point. I’m going to move his characters along for now until I decide how I want to approach potentially removing them, but hopefully he will magically reappear so I don’t have to do that
Preemptive signup wooo
HUMAN
Name: Rayne Green
Gender: female
Age: 26
Appearance: Art may be forthcoming idk Rayne stands at a towering 5ft 2in, she has brunette hair that is often tied into a half bun. She often wears a pastel green sweater along with some brown khaki pants, on her sweater is a nametag that reads “hello my name is Ms.Green!” It’s somewhat faded and peeling as she’s used this same sticker for the past year. Despite her appearance Ms.green is actually quite muscular, often when not in the classroom or at home writing her book she’s at the gym getting SHREDDED.
Tools/Weapons: Rayne carries a very heavy history book, a paracord bracelet, and a set of brass knuckles.
Personality/Bio/Motivations: Ms.green is the current History teacher at tempest middle school. Aside from being a teacher Ms.Green also has a side hustle as a novelist, although she has yet to complete a book to date. Ms.Green (or Rayne when she’s off the clock) also has a deep fascination with local legends and lore surrounding the town of tempest, this is mostly likely the reason she had been wrapped up in the whole mess. Rayne is exceptionally curious, Overly sweet when on the clock, but off she’s almost a different person entirely. Rayne is extremely antisocial, not because of a lack of skill at socializing but mainly because she doesn’t want to be.
REVENANT
Name: Casvir
Gender: Male
Appearance:
Casvir most often takes form as a lean and dainty yet tall humanoid male. His appearance reflects the connection with nature he shares, many of his less human qualities being that of insects and the like. His attire maintains many of the floral and vegetation theme he has going for him, patterns of flowers and leaves adorn the majority of his robes.
Powers/Abilities: Casvir has the ability to control the aspects of nature around him, often commanding roots to rise up and restrain his foes, This however comes with the pretty big disadvantage that if there is no plants or the like around him he is unable to use this ability. The plants around Casvir also need to be fairly large or vast for him to use them to his advantage as not much can be done with a simple potted plant.
Personality/Motivations: Casvir is extremely social, wanting to at least attempt to befriend everyone he ends up meeting. Because of this friendly nature Casvir tends to stay on the pacifists side of things, almost to a fault even. He constantly holds back refusing outright to commit acts of extreme violence no matter what they’ve done to him or anyone he’s found himself caring for. Casvir also tends to extend much more patience than you would expect from even the most forgiving monks.
Object: Casvir’s spirit is tied a rather conspicuous looking horned mask (see character art above)
Edit: @DuneToa do the thing
What is bro on about
