I just realized what I can reference from the Silmarillion… ooooo, this might be fun. Has anyone read or heard “Luthien’s lament”. I think I a situation where I could easily reference that.
I might have. I don’t remeber. It’s been a while since I read my copy of Silmarillion.
I recommend it, while I don’t remember any actual Lyrics in the Silmarillion, it did have a lot of importance for Luthien’s story.
An artist who goes by the name Eurielle, made her version of the song, which is really good. I recommend it.
But a correct statement nonetheless! His works have inspired me to actually flesh out my own D&D setting, as well as actually study myth. It is why I’ve gotten very well-read with celtic myth, and why Candall has been saying weird things lol.
Earlier, when he was defending his claim upon the land being part of his identity, it was a reflection of historical Celts. In particular, the goddess Macha enforced the belief that war was a natural part of your identity, since war was connected to taking or losing of land. It’s why Celtic clans fought over specific landmarks constantly, and made stone structures to mark where they lived.
I did some digging, and there is none. This is purely her invention. It refrences the book, but is not part of it. Looking at my copy of it now.
I read part of the Silmarillion, too many characters
That may be an invention, but I do like this rendition of the Song of Beren and Luthien.
Well I hope my grammar has improved now.
It has! Don’t feel too bad. It wasn’t too bad all the time, just a few errors. It’s good for someone’s second language, I’d say.
I stopped partway through “of the rings of power and the third age”, as I knew everything that happened past that.
Thanks, I mostly blame it now because of how late it is…you don’t wanna know. But if I concentrate I certainly can write correct english. I guess I wasn’t giving my best.
I should probably try going through it again, I think I felt the same way about the Hobbit until I reread it.
it’s easier to think of it as a collection of stories rather than one. If you ever find a copy of “The Children of Húrin” I highly recommend it, it takes one of the most pivotal stories of the Silmarillion and really improves on it as well as adding some more substance to it.
Besides the Hobbit, this is the my favorite book that takes place in Middle Earth, Tolkien wrote most of it, however it was his son that finished editing and writing it.
TBH, I did not finish or even get halfway through the Silmarillion on my first read through, it was either my second or third that I actually read through cover to cover.
Good old Ungoliant. Big hungry spider
Much better. There are a few things here and there, but those can easily be typos.
Oh… that was a good one, it’s been 4 or 5 years though.
Yeah, I am a perfectionist, until I get it right, I am not satisfied. So those few things here and there, they need to go lol.
It was very minor things, like an “ly” on a word that didn’t need it.
I’ll just keep improving. Now, has the fight been short or too long? So I know what to do…because I don’t want to make too short fights but long ones either.
I think it was a good length, I don’t think this party necessarily wants a week-long fight.////joking
