Toa Chiara DuckBricks Contest Submission

This is my official submission for DuckBricks’s Chiara fanon contest:

In addition to the primary photo above, additional views of the MOC can be seen in the turnaround below:

This MOC features very deliberate colour blocking, with the entire model being built around the blue “abs”.

I’ve always imagined Chiara as being particularly tall and lanky, and that was the driving force behind how I built her torso. It also determined how I built her spear; I wanted it to be thin and javelin-like, as opposed to the broad-tipped spears of the Toa Hagah:

I should also note that her spear tip is not a custom part; it’s a Very Light Bluish Gray spear from a cereal box Knight’s Kingdom set:

Her height also scales nicely with Gelu and the contest-winning Orde model from @Bukkey:

She’s noticeably taller than both of them, which is about what I envisioned.

Full .pdf instructions for this model can be found by clicking the cover image below:

Using the Nestle spear was an inspired choice for sure

Nice moc, although I must admit this head-on view is terrifying lol

where did you get the digital file for the spear tip?

I made it myself. If you’re interested, I’ll add it to my “part pack” right now:

(Part 51803)

I should note, though, It’s likely not a perfect replica; I don’t have the part, so it’s basically “traced” from a single photo on BrickLink. I made sure that the connection points are the standard geometry, at least.

I need to give your parts pack a good look.

Interesting choice of using vanilla Volitak.

Her spear reminds me of longinus (not the evangelion one). If you wanna swap out her kanohi to double down on the centurion look, I’ve got your covered there.

Here’s to some friendly competition between all our entries!
