Being rare/having multiple copies and being a singular source of Godlike raw energy so pure that only one is capable of existing at a time is a bit different
And it’s the shape being canonized, not the power, anyway.
The fact that custom builds are banned while use of the Mask of Mutation is not means that this will be disqualified:
and this wouldn’t:
Interesting point.
Would you vote for it?
IMO that should be DQ’d on the basis that it uses a shapeshifted mask (specifically one meant to fit a dragon)
I completely agree, and yet it’s not on the list of banned masks, so with how the rules are, there is no reason to DQ it for the mask, which is the problem.
It’s not forbidden because a Hagah could wear it. They’d just have the base form. If someone did a 3d mask made to emulate the MoM, it would be allowed.
It’s the same reason that the Makuta masks are banned, even though we have no idea what their base form looks like. If someone made a 3d print to emulate the Crast, it would be DQ’d.
I think that violates the height boundaries for the Hagah anyways
Yeah, that’d be DQ’d in minutes lol.
Anyway, I’m happy with the rules that’ve been announced. The fact that most of the attempts to rules-lawyer them are such clear reaches is a good sign to me.
Also, super-pleased that TTV staff arrived at “Just use the got-danged Metru torso parts”.
And I’m very pleased with the format the contests are taking. Bring on Contest Thunderdome!
As for the Olmak, I would argue that it is a valid shape for a Hagah mask due to the dude on Jovan’s team, but probably not a good idea to use the official mold because it’d be huge on a Metru.
It’d be viable if you removed the horns (which may or may not be part of the mask)
Edit: to be clear, it still should be DQ’d IMO. Just saying it would be within the height limits.
Technically, that’s not entirely true. It’s possible whatever hero one of the Hagah was honoring had a shapeshifted mask at the time the Hagah were given their masks. They don’t have to forge Kanohi in specific shapes, they simply do that for convention. I’m not saying anyone should enter shapeshifted masks, but its possible, especially with how the rules are laid out now.
No, it’s not. The only Makuta masks that are banned are the ones whose power is immoral, hence why Eljay doubled down on allowing the Shelek and Felnas. The Mask of Mutation is not considered immoral because Miserix was not part of the Rebellion.
Depending on how you measure, and whether you include the mask as part of their height.
I see no issues, Toa Miserix sounds like a cool idea
Do we know if the horns are considered part of the mask inherently in its design?
Either way, I doubt any person would attempt to use this in good faith or vote for it as such. Although I am curious as to how TTV would expect to know a scaled down version of the mask is indeed the MoM when they’ve implied other nonmutated versions aren’t to be stated as being X mask due to it sidelining the contest
Isn’t that what people first said about Hoseryx?
Huh, I thought Hoseryx got DQ’d, because those definitely weren’t good faith votes and were meme votes. Seems like you’ve answered your own question that something so blatant can’t really make it in the contest, even with bad faith meme votes supporting it
It…didn’t? It got second place overall.
That’s not what I mean. I mean that they’re banned even though we don’t know what they look like, just as the MoM, Felnas, and Shelek are allowed even though we don’t know what they look like.
I’m not TTV, so I can’t say for sure, but I don’t believe that would be allowed on the basis of it being a character-specific shapeshifted variant. Although maybe one of the Hagah would be honouring Miserix specifically with that exact shape?
But even if you take this approach, the scale is still off. I’m not sure if that’s enough to disqualify it though.
Honestly, it doesn’t look half bad.
Would Kanohi be included it the height requirement? Some Kanohi, such as the Rode, or Mask of Charisma, have horns and other protrusions that add quite a bit to the height of the mask, and the character overall.
When did they imply this?
I really hope they don’t take this direction. If a custom Kanohi on Pouks can be recognized as a Mask of Emulation and disqualified, then we should also be able to recognize custom Kanohi variants as their intended power.
But you really believed it could win? Believe it or not this voting system we have is not a democracy. Just because something gets a lot of votes doesn’t mean it’ll become official. TTV and Greg if they see something blatantly attempt to just look foolish for the sake of it will outright deny it.
TTV has also said they will not allow something like Hoseryx to make it so far again.
Unless you’re trying to imply that you’ll be attempting to make a giant MoM get far into the contest out of spite of them not allowing custom bodies, but I don’t think that’ll hold well either
No, because miserix only took on the dragon form after being exiled and presumed dead.
