“I would, but last time he forgot to tell me something, and I found out through Bulkhead he wants to flatten the place! Which isn’t all that appealing to someone like me with no connections to the outside world.”
OOC: that’s what I mean, he didn’t mention anything about a colony then.
“That is a bit extreme, but I can see his reasoning. Although personally I find it a risky maneuver, and excessive. I’ll have to talk to him about it.”
“Certainly. If we are to escape, it should be done subtly. Drawing as little attention as possible. Though I realize that may be more difficult than what he’s already conceived.”
Oddball watches the play in silence. Maybe the history lesson wouldn’t have much tactical importance, but it would at least be informative, perhaps even entertaining.
Now with Ramjet aboard, Machbreaker heads for the medbay. Though he does not race off, taking a more comfortable pace as to not further damage Ramjet.
Tie-Grabber already starts collecting and melting down materials to forge a new hook. That would hopefully at least cause Clawshot to complain less. And two “hands” would be more useful for boarding up chutes rather than doing it all himself. That is until Machbreaker comes back.
Though that last complaint makes him slightly chuckle. “A date? Ha. Why Railgun would never agree to such a thing. A waste of his schedule.”
Ramjet rested quietly, not saying anything as they went.
“Then you’ve clearly never seen the way she treats him. For Primus sake, its almost embarrassin’!”
As the Vex queen quickly finished the body. It looked somewhat similar to the Vex Oddball saw today, only a lot more rudimentary in its construction. It was made of mostly black metal, with a red glass face. Kalliope raised a hand, and a portion of her gas essence flew out and entered the mechanical body.
“Arise my dear Ares, and live.”
The new princess sat up sharply. She looked around, confused and frightened. Until Kalliope put a gentle hand on her shoulder.
When they get to the medical ward, Machbreaker revs his rocket to hopefully get Railfire’s attention.
“She’s just another fem swooned by a bot in uniform?” Tie-Grabber asked a bit tongue-and-cheek. He pauses for the moment as he focuses on reshaping the materials into the hook.
The medic did indeed notice. Though he was busy working on Juliana’s new fuel pump.
“Bring him up here, and I’ll get to him as soon as I can.”
He said.
“Like hell she is!”
Clawshot shouted.
" ‘Least she doesn’t have us diggin’ tunnels around all day like some kinda moles! Nebula’s probably the most competent bot in this whole compound! She’s slaggin better than that alright!"
He was absolutely fuming, but did his best to calm himself down.
Some time later (Because I haven’t the time to write an entire play)
A well matured Ares looks out over a vast landscape of stone and metal structures. Everything is cramped and crowded. Down below Vex walk shoulder to shoulder. Most of them are cobbled together stones and minerals, like Kalliope, but many had seemed to adapt Ares’ more powerful and stable robotic forms.
The All-Mother walked up to her daughter, and rested a hand on her shoulder.
“Something is troubling you my darling. Tell me, what is it?”
“Our people are running out of space. Our planet will not be able to hold all of us for much longer.”
Ares replied, quite worried.
“Yes, I’m well aware. In truth I’m not sure what to do.”
“What if we made homes on other worlds? We have the power to leave Kalliope, and there are so many other worlds out there that we could take for ourselves!”
“My dear Ares, we are not the only ones to call this system our home. We have neighbors, you know this. To colonize their worlds would lead to disastrous consequences. Even war. And that’s something we simply aren’t prepared for.”
Kalliope said firmly.
“I’m going to bed. Perhaps some rest will aid me in thinking of a solution.”
She said solemnly. The queen then walked away, out of sight.
“Hm. War? If we are not prepared for war, perhaps I can fix that.”
Ares said to herself.
Machbreaker does so and decides to scan Ramjet in the meantime to see the extent of injury.
Tie-Grabber looks back at Clawshot with the comment about them being moles, a scowl across his face. He opened his mouth to say something but sounds of the forge took his attention. Looking back at his work, he sees he’ll have to start mostly over again. He mutters something and starts crafting again. And in the process, thinks of something else to jab back.
“So what? You jealous? Wish she did the same to you?” Tie-Grabber shoots back, far less sly than he thinks it is.
The damages weren’t insignificant, but nothing to worry about too much. He would be fine after some patching up and r&r.
“What?! No!”
Clawshot spat back. Sounding more disgusted than anything.
“I just wish she’d stop fawning over that lost cause of a boss, and focus on what’s important! Like getting us out of here!”
Oh, okay. So that’s how it started, Oddball thinks, nodding his head. Humans, transformers, vex… seems like every species goes through a hyper-aggressive colonization phase fueled by manifest destiny at some point, huh? Can’t be the only one who’s noticed that…"
Kalliope walks into her daughter’s chambers, surprised to see her tinkering with something on a desk.
“Good morning my dear. What are you working on?”
She asked pleasantly.
“A weapon!”
Ares said eagerly. She was clearly excited about this project.
“I beg your pardon?”
Kalliope said, taken aback. Ares stood up and turned to her mother.
“You said we weren’t prepared for war. So I’m changing that! I’m developing a weapon that we can use to fight off other worlds, and make room for our people!”
“Young lady, this is not what I meant!”
The queen scolded.
“I want what is best for our people, but we are not going to attack others for our own benefit!”
