Transformers: Twilight of the Golden Age

Haliaetus stood with his arms behind his back, all hail Megatron you imposters to the throne

Ironcast smiles a little. Now we’re getting somewhere.

“It is a common belief among our friends on Gigantion that we must always look forward,” Daybreak continues. “Never should we retread old ground; it is imperative that we continuously strive for progress and innovation. It is a belief that I agree with wholeheartedly. We have come far since the Great War, yes, but we cannot stop now. We must never become content with our current standing, not even after we have surpassed the majesty and technology of the Golden Age. From now until the last spark fades, we must always work to better ourselves and achieve to new heights previously thought unobtainable. Thank you all, and good day.”

Well, slag, Drill thinks and Daybreak turns and walks away from the podium, that’s what I was gonna say. Welp, time to improvise, I guess.

Haliaetus kept watch

Windstrip arrives late.

Stoneflow grabs his paint and heads towards the speeches.

“The beginning was somewhat lacking in originality,” Chaplain critiques Daybreak’s speech, “and the ending was a little abrupt, but other than that, I found it quaint.”

“Thank you,” Daybreak responds. “Now, don’t keep your people waiting.”

Chaplain begins to walk over to the podium. “I actually think a great many would be happy if I kept my mouth shut, for once,” he says.

The podium raises slightly, as Chaplain was notably taller than Daybreak. The applause that welcome him are considerably more quiet and less rambunctious than those for the leader of Cybertron.

Ironcast spots this out of the corner of his eye, looking a little confused a moment.

The two head behind the platform the four where speaking from

To do that, the micromasters would have to infiltrate the Basilica from the back entrance. This was doable, but they’d also have to evade the security patrolling the building and the surrounding area.

Chaplain begins to speak:

“I would like bring attention to another Gigantion value,” he begins.

Oh, come on! Drill thinks. Use your own frakking values, people!

Maké deployed a hunter drone to distract the security, having it act as a noisemaker in a nearby ally

Two guards leave their posts to investigate, but many more remained to secure the Basilica.

Maké preps an explosive rigged to the drone, prepared to make it blow when they made contact

They do like Gigantion values today, don’t they?

The investigating guards spot the drone. Not knowing exactly what it was, and not wanting to take risks, they request the aid of another detail, including an explosives specialist.

“I speak of cooperation,” Chaplain continues. “One can accomplish many feats on their own, but, with the aid of others, they can do so much more. Only a fool denies the assistance of their fellows when it is available to them.”

“Not this spiel again,” Refuse mutters.

It explodes when they got there, with just enough force to knock the gaurds back

Maké and shifter began climbing on to the building, using their tails to create holes to use in doing so

Recovering from the explosion, the guards advise that the ceremony be called off, and that the leaders be quickly escorted to a safe location.

Chaplain is cut off as the doors to the Basilica open. Guards calmly walk out, advising him and his fellows to follow. Thousands of confused murmurs produce a rumbling, ambient sound as the crowd collectively wonders what could be going on.

What happened?
