What is the best Bionicle set?

I love the Jetrax T6, personally. Never get tired of the folding engines.

Seriously, any set between '01 to '06 is good.

Brutaka.
'Nuff said.

2001: Toa Tahu
2002: Boxor
2003 Toa Takanuva
2004 Toa Matau
2005 Toa Iruni
2006 Toa Jaller
2007 Toa Mahri Jaller
2008 Antroz
2009 Mata Nui
2010 Toa Tahu

this is pretty tough, but from all the sets I use to own, I would have to say Titan Takanuva.

I dunno, I really like that style of arms that he and Makuta had.

Tough. Tough.
Probably Brutaka, Maxilos, or Axalara T9.

and how larger characters got matoran builds

I would say: (from a Gen 1 standpoint)

Small Set: The '03 Matoran (Matoro if I had to pick one)
Canister: Toa Mahri Jaller
Titan: Brutaka or Hydraxon
Vehicle: Axalara T9 or the Skopio XV1

Really? I wasn’t a huge fan of the Axalara or the Skopio. Their color schemes weren’t my cup of tea and they looked really awkward.

They also were extremely overpriced…

Anyway:

Small set: Tough. I’d say Bohrok, though. Or maybe…heh…hahaha…or maybe…Starshahahahahahahahahahahaha
Canister: Mahri Hewkii and Kongu were pretty great.
Titan: Keetongu. He just had such a solid build.
Vehicle: Hmm…either Jetrax or Swamp Strider.

I’d have to say Vamprah or Ehlek because of the spook value.

Spooky spooky Ehlek sending shivers down your mind, spooky spooky Ehlek sending shivers down your spine~

I guess when it came to the vehicles, I really enjoyed the complex builds that too a while to complete; but maybe that’s just me.

I’m split between all the 2003 titan sets.

Had to think about this for a minute, but i’d have to say Brutaka. One of the best Titans ever made, both from a design and color scheme perspective. Just an excellent all around set.
