Toa Lewa and the People of Le-Koro (3/6)

Hi everyone! The next revamped Toa in my project to revamp the entirety of the 2001 BIONICLE line is Lewa, Toa of Air.

Lewa’s design was a fun challenge, as his frame is more lean than others such as Kopaka or Tahu, but still distinctly muscular and heroic as a Toa should be. I also added a bit of a simian influence to his aesthetic, as those of you familiar with the early literature will recall, Lewa was described as monkey-like, hence the long arms and slight hunch to his neck. I’m quite pleased with how he turned out!

Turaga Matau has always been one of my favorites, and he was a fun, quick build. He’s fairly similar to Vakama, with a slightly shorter neck posing and obviously unique weapon for his Kau Kau staff. Tamaru and Kongu round out the villagers of Le-Koro, with Kongu’s design being tweaked just a bit and Tamaru being a brand new build. The latter uses his climbing gear as seen in MNOG. I’ve had a spare lime Rau with a scratch on it for a while and I’m glad I finally found a use for it. Hope you like this take on the people of Air!

@kawaii_kitten Actually, the Axe is from Chima, though one of the European-exclusive sets (https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=15368#T=S&C=95&O={“color”:95,“iconly”:0}) at least I believe them to have been European-exclusive. The piece itself is really neat, if you can stomach the $4.20 price tag.

Thanks a lot! I’ll be adding a few more villagers in 2026 and I’ll be sure to post them here.
