Everybody now knows that there were 100 of the Makuta species that were initially created to inhabit the Matoran Universe, but what is usually overlooked is that pools of Antidermis scattered throughout the world house the souls of yet-to-be-born Makuta inside. If someone knew what they were doing, it would absolutely be possible to create a “Neo-Makuta.” Sure enough, the being only known as W is one such Neo-Makuta.

W was born between 5-15,000 years ago, following the death of Makuta Carnifex. Her “mother,” R, appointed her as the Consul of the two regions that were originally under his control. Since then, W has developed a timid and reserved personality largely unfitting for a Makuta, speaking her mind only when directly addressed and leaving her lair only if she is ordered to, likely as a result of her “mother’s” treatment of her. Her shrunken violet reputation has caused many opponents to underestimate her. Even without her Kanohi mask, W is a surprisingly formidable fighter, possibly strong enough to win against her “mother” in a fair fight; that is, assuming W can find the courage to stand up to R.
W wears the Kanohi Likua, Great Mask of Puppetry, which enables her to completely control the movements (but not the voice) of a target, living or dead; the greater the willpower of the target, the greater the concentration that is required to overtake them. Strong enough targets can break free if the wearer is not careful.
Trivia
- Much like Consul R, W is inspired by the character of the same name from Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The primary difference is that the game’s W doesn’t seem to be particularly afraid of the game’s R, despite their relationship dynamic being otherwise largely the same.
- Unlike R, I don’t currently have plans to give W a name beyond the letter.
- In addition to R’s treatment of her, W’s resigned personality may come from her remembering the true will of the Great Spirit that the other Makuta have forgotten.
- Any Rahkshi that are created by W will display similar personality traits, such as shyness and anxiety. It is currently unknown if this is something unique to her or if other Neo-Makuta will have similar quirks.
- The model used for the mask is the Avokraan from Kardas’s parts pack.
