Artakha, Spirit of Creation (Bionicle Cannon Contest #2: Meet the Maker) Lego Creations

The once generous if ornery child of the great beings, Artakha now lives a secluded life burried deep in his fortress–his mind only for his craft. [Artakha-pose-main] I ended up with stronger opinions about Artakha than I originally thought, and I think some of them end up being a little bit left of centre, so I look forward to hearing what people think! My main to focuses for this build were that, as a craftsman, he could be ornate but definitely not over-designed. Also, while a ruler, he never seemed like an opulent king. He’s a craftsman first and foremost, after all, so my goal was clean, attractive design with that tall and imposing vibe. I settled on sand green and copper for the colour scheme. Man, the quality in entries has really been going up
Goes to show, the longer you spend on something, the more likely you’ll end up with a good outcome that you’re satisfied with.

[Imgur] Here’s my take on Artakha. For some reason the idea of his armour looking unusual made me really want him to have some strange System armour. I put some jets on his hammer since that seems like the sort of thing he’d like. Forging a legendary Kanohi probably requires an excessive amount of power, so I like to imagine him swinging down with full thrust to pound his creations into shape. [20200923_143642] Here’s his back. I gave him side skirts to give him a wise Turaga-esque appearance. Entry Photo: [20200923_223350] We know. We know… Dark Turquoise/teal is a risky take on Artahka because he is described as Gray-green. But hear us out: Turquoise is just a nuance of blue and green, so technically it is up to your interpretation of the Colour green, although some Cultures describe Blue through Green and often used one Word for both. Besides that, we sadly didn’t have much Sandgreen Pieces on hand and didn’t want to throw our Creation in Studio and give it some Impossible Pieces. Which would look cool and more accurate but wouldn’t be acquirable. Just in Case we would somehow win against these other incredible Contestants, we wanted our Build to be Reproducible. On the Optic aspects, we didn’t want to let it look like a Ben 10 Figurine, Gen 2/Hero Factory Model or a…

Gathered friends, I am here today to enter my submission for the Meet the Maker Contest. Let me introduce my rendition of the wearer of the Mask of Creation himself, Artakha! So I decided to take a crack at this contest, made my build of Artakha using dark green pieces, since I barely have any sand green, nor the disposable income to order parts at this time. His hammer isn’t that large compared to him, since I figured his hammer is a tool first, weapon second. No mask, because I couldn’t find or build one for him if I tried, and the art contest will take care of that anyway. This figure has an ab crunch, and rubber stabilizers in his feet. [IMG_5888] Greetings All! I present to you Artakha, the Lord of Creation. I went for an ancient but powerful, lean but strong, and wise but dangerous, look. I used a lot of the Metru Armor for the ancient look, and the beefy but well proportioned limbs that give him the powerful and imposing aesthetic. [IMG_5887] I based the warhammer heavily off of the one created to go with the Melding Universe Teridax created by [BZPower] member ToM Dracone. According to the Bionicle wiki, the canonical users of this Warhammer are melding universe Teridax and Artakha. As I could not find instructions, I did my best to imitate it.
