Here’s my entry for Helryx!
My entry for the Canon contest for Toa Helryx.
The design was inspired by older Bionicle sets and knights kingdom sets. As such I tried to keep her set-like and have the feel of those older Bionicle sets while using some modern technic techniques.
I like to imagine Helryx has had some changes to her armour over the years so that reflects with there been to colours of silver in the model.
The mace is more elemental while also looking old and used. The shield is also weapon like being a buzz saw piece.

The build has 14 points of articulation which allow for full range of possibility and has waist articulation. The side skirts can move while posing.

Toa Helryx: The First Toa
Presenting my take on Toa Helryx! This version draws inspiration from Crunchbitenuva’s sketch for the Bionicle Art Squad tumblr, linked here. This version of Helryx has been around for a while, as it was originally posted on my Flickr page back in 2017.

I had previously used a 3D printed mask from seller Masks For All, and it can be found here. However, as I’ve been unable to get in contact with the seller through Shapeways, I’ve resorted to using a stand-in mask, the Kanohi Rau. I believe the 3D printed mask is more suitable for the overall figure, but as Helryx’s mask is being decided in a stand-alone contest, it doesn’t matter as much which replacement I’ve used, I guess!

I hope I’ve done this right…
EDIT: I’ve updated the post to remove the 3D printed mask pictures, and should now be more suitable! Again, let me know if anything is missing. Cheers!

Can I throw my hat to this ring?
Before The Mahri, Before The Metru, Before The Mata, She was there in the beginner as the first of her kind, the Toa that also a Toa of Water.
Her Toa Tools are the Aqua Mace, a weapon more dangerous than any other Toa of Water’s Toa Tools, and her Sponge Shield to defend blows for any enemy’s weapons.
Her mask is the Kanohi Maindo, The Great Mask of Psychometry.

Since she is used a “older” version of my Toa build, the parts to build her are parts that you already have or not.

Here be my entry -
She was not Makuta, but she was indescribably ancient and disturbingly frail in appearance.
“I am Helryx, leader of the Order of Mata Nui.”
[Helryx Contest Front]
Yup, throwing my hat into the ring as well.
[Helryx Side]
Bit of info - given her design as the first toa, and some things Greg has discussed, I went with a build heavily influenced by early ('01) Bionicle, at least in appearance. As seen, I at least kept the 01 hand and feet, used an 01 color scheme which includes reserving metallics for the weapons, and I even used a Slizers part for the upper torso.
[Helryx Back]
The build was made in Stud.io and is purist - every part was made by Lego in those colors, so this could be built for real without painted or custom parts. The only issue is that I had to use a custom Metru …
Also, I really implore the team to use a bracket vote or a ranked voting system. If we just used the typical “most votes wins,” that’ll probably mean the most voted entry won’t get anywhere near 50% of the vote with as many entries as we have. This is the first time in a long time for the fans to see what some of their favorite characters will look like, so it’s only fair that as much of the fanbase agrees on the winner as possible.

Helryx was an ancient, war torn Toa who carried a mace and a shield. She was to the BIONICLE universe what Judi Dench’s M is to the James Bond universe, a fierce and capable leader willing to strive for her vision of the greater good, no matter the cost.
On to the moc, this project started by emulating a Mata torso with the Town Jr. trike element. The small fenders do a good job of faking a gearbox housing. The mask is structured around an inverted and reversed triceratops head to give it an emaciated look. The gray pieces represent worn armor. Mata limbs were chosen to represent an organically decomposed, mechanical look like the original Toa. This moc fits in nicely with those characters, being the same height as Onua. The hunchbacked design is a stylistic choice I made, since I always …
Here is my entry, good luck to all contestants.

Hello everyone.
I’m quite excited to show you my latest MOC: the Toa Helryx.
I was trying to make toa which does not look like a typical G1 toa. As we know, Takanuva did have some troubles with recognize Helryx as a toa, so I’ve decited to make her with as minimum number of G1 armour pieces as it is only plausible with parts I have.
Here’s the front, back and side:

As a build it is quite durable.
For mask I did use preexisted one, the only non-G1 blue mask I did have, maybe it’s not the best look but, I’ve added some minor details to it to make it look more ‘finished’.
The way she has been built makes her rather poseable, easy to get into dynamic poses:

Here’s my entry. Hope you like it. Most important to me was to stay within inika scale with as interesting build as it’s plausible and as big range of motion as it plausible.

So we’re including Bricklink Studio files for custom masks that someone has given permission to use,
But what about canon pieces that had to be homemade by someone because they don’t appear in bricklink studio? Generally these are posted with the intent to be shared freely.

Here is my entry
[Main]
My entry for the Helryx contest.
Her “frail” appearance and “fought a thousand battles” didn’t really work together in my opinion so I gave her some armor that might look different to some Toa. Some chainmail like we used in older times, perhaps the first Toa also used different types of armor than current ones. While underneath all that she still looks thinner than other Toa. Her armor is also easy detachable in the model as well in case you’re wondering.
[Main Alt]
I don’t fully understand the mask/art portion but I used the trans-blue transparent mask of water from the LEGO Inside tour. It leaves the option open to even make it the canon appearance of her Mask of Psychometry without conflicting with other G1 masks. I’m fully aware it’s up to the next portion of the contest …
Best of luck to all participants

Here’s mine!
First time using the messgage board… hopefully I get it right.
This is my take on Helryx for the contest:
[83487914_398632657703916_4975070823715759785_n]
My hope was to make her build frail and spindly without looking like she could be blown over by a gust of wind.
[103736479_709353409861175_7256940917098635981_n] [104047621_545478046333091_2969369137297575693_n]
Though her build is unique, I added a couple of visual parallels to the Toa Mata build, giving her a recognisably Toa-like appearance. I felt that Mata blue was a must over the darker blue of the later years so that her appearance felt more (nostalgically speaking) early Bionicle. Additionally I wanted to convey her power through the build somehow, so I gave her large, bulky weapons in contrast to the more modest toolsets o…
Pls let me know if I’ve done anything wrong so I can fix it. Thanks in advance
