@Eljay regarding the “painted pieces must be one color” rule, is glittery paint acceptable? The only good gold paint I can find is glittery.
@Winger , @Solaris_Magnus .
Yeah, 130 is certainly great in comparison.
Here’s mine, I’m most proud of the hammer and how I figured out the mask. I hope you like it!

Cutting it close, but I’m not passing up an opportunity like this!

I present to you my take on Artakha.

Behind the build:
Some of you might remember my original version of this guy from a while ago. While I regrettably cannot do a similar photo shoot, much of the initial design here is the same as before, save for color changes and a few piece changes to adhere to the contest rules.

Just like before, the MOC is equipped with semi-realistic waist articulation, as well as shoulder articulation. The new hands make for wonderfully poseable fingers and more expressive poses!

My initial design process began with a breakdown of iconic “titan builds” throughout Bionicle’s history. What parts made…
At last, my entry, sadly not as polished as I would have liked lol

Somehow, I returned…
So after many years, here I am with a new topic! This is my entry into the Artakha contest!

This is the first real constraction MOC I’ve made since like 2016, aside from minor adjustments to my self-MOC, and all things considered after three revisions or so, I like how he turned out! I made a bricklink order of just random cheap parts I found a couple months ago with no idea what to do with them, like those large shoulder parts for instance. Very strange piece, but it sure came in handy here. I also tried to reverse the gray/green balance from the upper limbs to the lower limbs, with green on the front and gray on the back and vice-versa.

Here’s my take on Artakha:

[Artakha Main]
This is my version of Artakha for Canon Contest #2. I wanted to make an imposing Artakha that would not feel out of place with other Bionicle sets. For that reason, Artakha’s armor is mostly made of Constraction pieces.
I used pieces with large amounts of surface detail to suggest the runes carved into his body. The head in the photos is a brick-built placeholder, which is designed to fit KhingK’s Mask of Creation.
The figure is reasonably posable and incorporates some waist articulation. The epaulets are on ball joints to allow for outwards arm movement, and the fingers can move independently.
Even though Artakha has been digitally rendered, every part used besides the mask is something that can be physically purchased. That is why Artakha is Metru green …

Here’s my entry:
The once generous if ornery child of the great beings, Artakha now lives a secluded life burried deep in his fortress–his mind only for his craft.
[Artakha-pose-main]
I ended up with stronger opinions about Artakha than I originally thought, and I think some of them end up being a little bit left of centre, so I look forward to hearing what people think! My main to focuses for this build were that, as a craftsman, he could be ornate but definitely not over-designed. Also, while a ruler, he never seemed like an opulent king. He’s a craftsman first and foremost, after all, so my goal was clean, attractive design with that tall and imposing vibe.
I settled on sand green and copper for the colour scheme. Since the mask of creation was won and not something designed specifically for him, I …
It’s been so cool looking at everyone’s takes–especially the less-conventional designs.

Man, the quality in entries has really been going up
Goes to show, the longer you spend on something, the more likely you’ll end up with a good outcome that you’re satisfied with.

It’s going to be really hard to decide between these, but I’ve already narrowed it down to only 21 entries!

Honestly, I’d be okay with a majority of these entries.
But as for the ones that I really want to win, I have it down to a top five or six.
