"Silhouette" (Reborn)

“I am you. I am your darkness, I am your shadow, I am the representation of all your evil buried in your heart, mind, and spirit. I am you without holding back, I am you without weakness, I am you without restraint. You are me and we aren’t given you a chance to go back!”–“Silhouette”

General Body:

Extras/Alternative Lighting:
So you probably noticed with the back picture on the grouping above was a bit too bright. I couldn’t get the camera to take the picture with the extra lights off. Sorry about that. Though some with additional lights looked…okay? I’m not sure which ones looked better in comparison to above. Trying to do a better job for the darker creations so they’re easier to see.

Profile:

Code Name: “Silhouette”

Real Name: Netros

Species: Toa (altered/mutated)

Element: Shadow

Gender: Male

Kanohi: Mask of Scavenging

Powers and Weapons: Still retaining his Toa elemental powers, “Silhouette” can, at a base level, create, control, and absorb Shadows. With this power, he can blanket entire villages in darkness, use it to conceal himself as a form of cloaking, see/feel his way through darkness, send blasts of Shadow and create weapons. Such as his primary weapons, the Blades of Darkness, which are composed of hardened shadows. The blades themselves can be two separate swords or combined into one large sword, and channel additional shadow attacks.

Unique to “Silhouette” however is the ability to transmutate his body into pure shadow. In this state, he can move through solid objects, phase through most attacks, physically harm other beings by attacking their shadows, limited shapeshifting, and limited elemental power. Typically in this state, most of his elemental power is being used to control his own body and prevent other Shadow elementals from manipulating it. Though he can still send small Shadow Blasts at targets. However, the element of Light is especially devastating in this form and could potentially kill him in a single blast. Other elements that are more energy based, such as Lightning and Plasma, can disrupt and harm him in this state, but not easily kill him.

Related to this shadow transmutation is his ability to, for lack of a better term, possess-enhance other beings. While in his more shadowy state, he can “bond”/cover himself over another being, becoming a second skin. While the being is “wearing” him, they look like a black/shadowy version of themselves and gain access to his elemental powers of Shadow, with knowledge of basic usage. The being also has all their other powers, abilities, and weapons enhanced/strengthen as a result of being connected to/using “Silhouette’s” Toa Power. Similarly, beings can now also use Kanohi if they so desire, but do not gain access to “Silhouette’s” mask, which is unusable in this state. As long as they are still bonded, there is a minor telepathic link between “Silhouette” and the being, just enough where the being can hear what “Silhouette” says to him privately and vice versa. “Silhouette” cannot actively read the host’s mind or search it for information, only speak without it having to be aloud. “Silhouette” still has control of himself however, and can forcible move and manipulate the host’s body if needed. During this time, while still weak to Light, it is not as devastating in either the shadow form or natural composition.

“Silhouette” himself has difficultly recharging energies. While regaining elemental energies is not so much a problem, if he does not consume the moral light of other beings, he will die. Much like Gorast’s stinger and the Avsa, he can drain this light from beings and creatures. However, he is required to be touching them, with it being far easier and more efficient while possessing another being. If he drains a being of their light completely, they not only a being of Shadow, but a more drone-esc husk that serves his will. Makes beings become his Kraata and Rahkshi, or the mind controlled Voya Nui Matoran, you could say.

Aside from this, he can use Great and Noble Kanohi, such as his Mask of Scavenging. His shadow wings can allow him to fly, though he can only do so for short distances. His powered skis have been enhanced/remade out of Protosteel and can slice through almost anything as a result. With the treads in the back, he can essentially ski over any terrain and not just snow, or use it to create a solid layer of shadows to glide on. If needed, the skis can be used as makeshift swords.

Personality: Selfish, greedy, anxious, ambitious for power; “Silhouette” is many things. What a Toa ought not to be, what heroes worry about becoming, “Silhouette” is all that and more. Killing out of boredom, seeker of thrills, hungering for more of everything, he will do what he must to get what he wants and to survive.

Background: Once long ago, the being they call “Silhouette” was a simple, little Ko-Matoran. His makers were kind enough to grant him name, that of Netros, and he worked on building the Matoran Universe with the rest of his kin. Though he would not do so for long, as he, along with a few others, were chosen to be some of the earliest Matoran to became Toa. Forming a team with several others, such as the Toa of Sonics Vanludge, they would face and stop many dangers to the Matoran Universe. But their days of grand heroes was soon pushed to their hardest test as the Matoran Civil War in the north threatened to take Mata Nui’s life. Having little other options, Netros, Vanludge, and the rest of the team sought for the Ignika, the Mask of Life.

The challenges were tough, but they past the defenses and made it to the mask, only to learn that the worse challenges were yet to come. The mask had a bad tendency to curse the things around the Toa, causing many detours in order to stop the monsters. They grew ever worried that the cursed thing would do something to one of them. And it did, but not in the way they expected. In order to save the Great Spirit, one of them had to die in his stead. Netros, always eager even in dire straights, agreed to the sacrifice and saved Mata Nui. Once it was done, the team returned the Ignika back to its place, resisting the urge to destroy the thing.

However, that was not the end for Netros, not entirely. Perhaps the Ignika had a change of heart or perhaps Netros managed to even use the mask slightly, but he managed to survive in a form. Or rather, two forms. As the restorative life energies flowed through the core, his courage and heroics entered the mind of an emerging guardian, to perhaps save the Great Spirit again one day if needed. But his doubts, his faults, the real desire to live instead, those hidden shadows of his heart, they fell onto another. As the guardian re-submerged and waited to be summon again, from that pit of Energized Protodermis rose a blacken, twisted, sickened being.

It escaped from the core and entered the rest of the Matoran Universe, feasting on others to sustain itself for its own lack of light. For a long time, he stuck to the Southern Isles, but eventually his ambitions and desires grew and sought to take the north. It is in these ventures that he learned of an organization known as the Dark Hunters, killers, thieves, mercenaries; the perfect excuse to kill beings, take their light, and have protection while doing so. He sought them out and joined them, passing entry tests easily. However, even among the Dark Hunters, he found them to be too moral, too heroic, too much light within them. And so began his plotting to take them over, to slowly drain away all their light and make the Dark Hunters his.

The Best and Worst Vote:

Now that all my Dark Hunters are here, would you please take the time and let me know which are the best and worst of the bunch? While some of you have been very kind to comment and point out issues, I can’t always tell by Likes alone which ones people enjoyed or thought were absolute trash. Nor do they tell me if it was the MOC that was the issue or the character that was with the MOC. So if you would, please vote in the polls below.

As I have so many Dark Hunters, please choose up to five in each category.

Additional note, each one had to be broken up into two polls since there is evidently a limit of 20 per polls. Oops.

Thank you for viewing and reading my Dark Hunter nonsense.

Can he pose in other ways then… statue? Otherwise, pretty darn good if I do say so myself

The build is very solid and complex, I really like it!

Thanks and yes. He appears in the same pose in both sets as it was just the difference of turning on and off some lights. He can be done in other poses, but as can pretty much be proven, I am terrible at thinking of what poses to have characters do after I build them. My mind just sort of blanks out when I start taking pictures of them.

Thanks!

Could you please take more pictures! The moc looks good, but those aren’t the best photos to show it off
